Stockholm-based company Elvy has secured an investment from actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio as it expands its subscription-based home energy model. The company installs integrated energy systems combining solar panels, batteries, heat pumps and optimization software, allowing homeowners to manage energy consumption through a fixed monthly subscription. Elvy reported a tenfold increase in revenue in 2025 compared with the previous year and says its systems reduce household energy consumption by an average of 60%. The company plans to broaden access to its technology and has launched a customer referral platform intended to encourage more households to adopt renewable energy solutions.
Founded in 2023, Elvy aims to simplify home energy management by combining equipment installation, system operation and software into a single subscription. Rather than requiring homeowners to purchase and manage individual components themselves, the company provides integrated systems designed to generate, store and optimize electricity while helping households reduce reliance on the grid.
Solar panels generate electricity during the day, while home batteries store energy for later use. Heat pumps and optimization software form part of the wider system, helping households manage heating and electricity consumption. Elvy’s subscription model offers customers a fixed monthly price rather than direct exposure to fluctuations in spot electricity prices, with the company retaining ownership of the equipment and responsibility for its operation.
“Today’s subsidies demand the consumer take on the financial burden of transitioning to renewables. Not only does it put the risk on the consumer, it also excludes everyone that doesn’t have that financial ability. With our app, consumers can earn money on speeding up the transition. We wish the government would enable this, but until then, we created our own subsidy program in order to democratize the energy transition,” says Johan Outinen, CEO and co-founder of Elvy.
The company says its systems deliver average household energy savings of 60%. Its business has also expanded rapidly: Elvy reported tenfold revenue growth in 2025 and says it now serves more than 1,800 homes, with a workforce of over 50 employees.
DiCaprio’s investment comes as Elvy seeks to make its home energy model available to more households. The company has also introduced a customer referral platform designed to reward participation in the transition to renewable energy.
“Elvy is demonstrating that energy efficiency can be both measurable for homeowners and scalable as a business. The company can reduce a household’s energy consumption by an average of 60%, creating potential impact at the household level, while advancing a new model for how energy can be produced, managed and consumed,” says Leonardo DiCaprio.
Elvy’s approach is intended to address the upfront cost of installing home energy equipment, which can prevent some homeowners from adopting solar panels, batteries and other energy-saving technologies. By offering an integrated system through a subscription, the company aims to reduce the need for customers to finance and coordinate installations themselves.
“Leo has supported the energy space for a long time, his involvement is a strong vote of confidence in our potential to help build a better world. We’re super excited to welcome him on our journey”, says Johan Outinen.
Elvy has also reported securing SEK 5.5 billion in financing for installations as of December 2025, according to its company timeline. The figure refers to installation financing and should not be interpreted as the amount raised in DiCaprio’s investment round, for which the company did not disclose financial details in its announcement.
The company plans to continue expanding its technology to more homes as demand grows for solutions that help households lower energy consumption and manage increasingly complex home energy systems.
