New partnership aims to simplify tenant onboarding for agents

PropTech firms Reapit and Goodlord have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at streamlining tenant onboarding and compliance processes for letting agents.

The agreement will combine Goodlord’s referencing, compliance, insurance and tenancy progression services with Reapit’s property management platform, giving agents access to tenancy data and reporting tools through a single system.

The companies said the partnership comes as letting agents face increased regulatory scrutiny following the introduction of the Renters’ Rights Act and enhanced enforcement powers for local authorities.

Under the arrangement, agents using the integrated platforms will be able to manage affordability checks, tenant referencing, compliance documentation and tenancy progression within Reapit. The next phase of the integration, due to be launched in the coming months, will bring additional Goodlord services directly into the platform.

The firms said the aim is to reduce manual administration, improve oversight of tenancy processes and help agents maintain compliance throughout the tenant onboarding journey.

The partnership builds on an existing integration between the two businesses, which already allows data to be shared between their respective systems.

Steve Richmond, Reapit’s general manager in the UK and Ireland, said: “Our partnership with Goodlord will help agents get pre-tenancy right the first time, every time. It means less duplication, clearer oversight and more confidence for agents and their landlords. And this is only the beginning. We’ll be continuing to work closely with Goodlord to deliver even more value for agents over time as we build the gold-standard partnership for tenancy progression in the property industry.”

Tom Goodman, managing director at the Goodlord Group, commented: “Our recent research shows that admin is the biggest frustration for agents, with 76% saying it slows them down and 63% saying compliance is holding their business back. With the Renters’ Rights Act increasing the pressure on accuracy and record keeping, that challenge is only growing.

“As Reapit’s new strategic partner for tenant referencing and tenancy progression, we are in a prime position to address agents’ biggest worries by bringing our services closer to Reapit.”

Meanwhile, Goodlord has become what it believed to be the platform to integrate all three UK deposit schemes: The DPS, Tenancy Deposit Scheme and mydeposits.

The API integration with The DPS gives letting agents the flexibility to choose their preferred scheme while managing deposit registration and tenancy progression within a single, connected workflow.

The functionality is available to customers using Goodlord’s Complete Tenancy Management product.

Goodman said: “For the first time, agents can manage tenancy progression and deposit protection across all three major schemes within a single platform. It’s a significant step towards a more streamlined, fully connected workflow and reflects our commitment to giving agents, landlords and tenants everything they need to rent better, in one place.”
