Nasdaq-listed Bending Spoons attracted a further 330 million US Dollars from Berkshire Hathaway, the holding that Warren Buffett founded and ceo Greg Abel heads, who previously invested 600 million in the company’s July 2026 IPO and now has 4% of the business (press release) (see here a previous posty by BeBeez).

The deal will take place through a private placement of 10 million newly issued ordinary share priced at 33 US Dollars each. The closing should take place by 4Q26. Such resources will finance Bending Spoon’s organic growth and M&A (Form 6-K filed with the SEC).

The share issue will take place at a price approximately 13% lower than Bending Spoons’ 38 US Dollars closing price on 13 October, Tuesday. However, the market reacted to the announcement with a sharp rise: in the early hours of yesterday’s US trading session, the share price rose by over 40%, with a market capitalisation approaching 34 billion US dollars. The share then closed at 53.46 US Dollars, up 41.2%.

On 1 July, Wednesday, Bending Spoons, launched its 29 US Dollars per share IPO on the ground of an 18.5 billion equity value and a 21,2 billion enterprise value.

Galileo Quattordici (a portfolio company of Renaissance Partners, Nimble Ventures and Nimble Partners), StarTIP (Tamburi Investment Partners), Baillie Gifford, Cox Enterprises, Durable Capital Partners, and the founders kept 37.6% of Bending Spoons (IPO Prospectus page 156).

In September 2025, Bending Spoons attracted 710 million US Dollars for a pre-money value of 11 billion US Dollars (270 million primary equity and 440 million secondary) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). T. Rowe Price Investment Management led this round that Baillie Gifford, Cox Enterprises, Durable Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Foxhaven Asset Management, Radcliff, and others joined.

Luca Ferrari, ceo and cofounder of Bending Spoons, said: “Berkshire Hathaway is one of the world’s finest and most respected investors since decades in terms of capital allocation, and has also long been a source of inspiration for Bending Spoons. We were delighted to welcome such a firm as a shareholder when we went public, and we are equally delighted to strengthen this partnership through this new investment, which demonstrates our mutual respect and enthusiasm for what lies ahead.”

Francesco Patarnello, cofounder and Bending Spoons head of M&A, added: “Bending Spoons is constantly evaluating M&A opportunities and our pipeline remains strong. We believe that Berkshire Hathaway’s investment reflects confidence in our team and our platform and will further strengthen our financial flexibility and our ability to make attractive acquisitions as part of our broader financing strategy.”.

This capital injection comes at a particularly busy stage in the Milan-based company’s acquisition strategy. In September 2026, Bending Spoons signed an agreement to acquire Miro, a visual collaboration and artificial intelligence platform with over 100 million users, for an enterprise value of 1.355 billion US dollars and an equity value of 1.79 billion. Furthermore, some of Miro’s shareholders reinvested 295 million of the proceeds from the sale in Bending Spoons shares (see here a previous post by BeBeez). On 4 September, Friday, Bending Spoons acquired Airtable, a collaborative and no-code software platform with annual recurring revenue of 480 million, for an enterprise value of 1.285 billion and an equity value of 2.25 billion (see here a previous post by BeBeez).

In July 2026, Bending Spoons secured a new medium- to long-term loan of 500 million euros maturing in March 2031 from HSBC Continental Europe, Intesa Sanpaolo and BPER Banca with the warranty of SACE. The company also attracted a further 495 million Term Loan A and a 490 million increase in commitments under the revolving credit facility that brought the total value of new facilities and facility extensions agreed since 2Q26 to 1.49 billion euros which may also finance acquisitions (press release).

In September 2026, Bending Spoons announced the pricing and syndicated placement of two tranches of existing senior secured Term Loan B, both maturing in 2031: 1.25 billion US dollars for the US dollar-denominated tranche and 395 million euros for the euro-denominated tranche. The amounts raised exceeded the initial targets by 750 million US dollars and the equivalent of 250 million euros, respectively. The proceeds will finance the acquisition of Miro, to repay the drawn portion of the revolving credit facility in euros, and to meet the group’s general funding requirements (press release).

In March 2025, Bending Spoons secured a direct lending facility of 600 million US dollars from Silver Point Capital and other investors (see here a previous post by BeBeez) while in August 2025 it attracted 500 million euros venture debt from JP Morgan, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole,  Banco BPM, Bank of America, Barclays, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mizuho, Société Générale, and Wells Fargo (see here a previous post by BeBeez).

In 2H26, Bending Spoons cash amounted to 793 million US Dollars and the borrowing capacity from RCF were of 1.28 billion for a 2.4X leverage ratio and a gross financial debt of 4,88 billion (see here a previous post by BeBeez).

Bending Spoons is a global catalyst of digital businesses and previously acquired Tractive, AOL, Eventbrite, MileIQ Inc, Vimeo, komoot, Brightcove, WeTransfer, Issuu, Hopin/StreamYard Top Corp, Meetup, assets of Mosaic Group and of Evernote.
