Strutt & Parker appoints Louise Glanville as head of National Town and City Markets

Louise Glanville

Strutt & Parker has appointed former Knight Frank partner Louise Glanville as Head of National Town and City Markets, a newly created role within the business.

Glanville joins as a director after almost 10 years at Knight Frank, where she most recently served as partner and head of the firm’s Exeter office. She previously worked at Strutt & Parker earlier in her career within its new homes division.

Based within Strutt & Parker’s National Country House Department, Glanville has been tasked with expanding the firm’s presence in prime city markets and strengthening links between its town and country operations.

Her remit includes growing the agency’s presence in key locations such as Oxford, Cambridge, Winchester and Exeter, while working with local offices to identify opportunities across prime residential markets.

Oliver Custance Baker, head of the National Country House Department, commented: “Louise brings a superb track record, combining strong commercial instinct with the understanding of how to support the growth of a high-performing team.

“She will be instrumental in strengthening our presence in those cathedral cities where the lines between town and country living are increasingly blurred; where you can find homes with the scale and character of the countryside, in the heart of the city. Her appointment promises to meaningfully enhance both our reach and client offering.”

Whilst Glanville’s initial focus will be on prime and high-value homes within key regional cities, she will work closely with the wider National Country House Department, which operates across the UK from the Scottish Highlands to the South Coast.

Glanville said: “I am delighted to be returning to Strutt & Parker at such an exciting time for the business. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the country to build on their existing network and help drive the next phase of growth in these prime city markets.”

Savills strengthens Cardiff planning team with new hires

L-R: Kate Tomos, Lucy Such, Darcey McCann, and Megan Jones

Savills has expanded its planning team in Cardiff with the appointment of three planners and a new administrator.

Kate Tomos joins as associate director from Avison Young, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in environmental planning and Environmental Impact Assessment. Her work has covered a range of sectors including housing, mixed-use development, energy, infrastructure and industrial projects.

Lucy Such has joined as a planner from Tetra Tech, having gained RTPI chartership in 2025. She has worked on projects across Wales and England, including renewable energy developments and strategic land promotion schemes.

Megan Jones joins as a graduate planner after completing her studies at Swansea University and is currently undertaking a master’s degree at Cardiff University. She will support the team across a range of planning projects.

The firm has also appointed Darcey McCann as team administrator. She brings more than six years of administrative experience.

The appointments increase the size of Savills’ Cardiff planning team, which advises on projects across sectors including housing, energy and infrastructure, city centre development, data centres, public sector schemes, sports and leisure, and electric vehicle charging.

Jack Pugsley, director and head of Savills Cardiff Planning, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kate, Lucy, Megan and Darcey to the team at a time of sustained growth and momentum for the business. Their combined experience strengthens our established presence in Wales and enhances our ability to provide high‑quality advice that is underpinned by local insight and national reach.

“We have a strong and diverse pipeline of work through 2026 and beyond, with continued growth across energy, infrastructure and data centre projects, in particular. Working closely with colleagues across Savills Cardiff and our wider UK business, we remain exceptionally well placed to deliver integrated planning solutions for our clients across Wales and beyond.”

Earlier this year, planner Cerys Hulbert-Scott, who joined Savills Cardiff in 2025, was promoted to an associate director position, while another member of the team, associate director, Portia Banwell, has returned from maternity leave.

Anna Wood succeeds long-serving chair of key JCT drafting panel

Anna Wood

Michelmores partner Anna Wood has been appointed chair of the JCT Drafting Sub-Committee, taking over from Victoria Peckett, who is stepping down after 18 years in the role.

Wood, who becomes chair in July, leads Michelmores’ construction team and advises developers, contractors, employers and consultants on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters across the UK.

The appointment places her at the head of the committee responsible for overseeing the development and revision of JCT’s standard form construction contracts, which are widely used throughout the property and construction sectors.

Wood succeeds Clyde & Co partner Victoria Peckett, who has chaired the drafting sub-committee since 2008.

The move marks a significant industry appointment for Wood, who has extensive experience advising on complex construction projects and legal issues across the built environment sector.

“The construction industry continues to navigate significant legal, commercial and regulatory change,” said Wood. “JCT contracts play a central role in supporting successful project delivery, and I look forward to working with the Drafting Sub-Committee to ensure that all contracts across the suite remain clear, relevant and fit for purpose.”
