Strutt & Parker strengthens NW London team with new broker hire

Hamish Gilfeather

Strutt & Parker has announced the appointment of Hamish Gilfeather as senior associate director in its broker team, the latest hire into its hybrid model of estate agency following the launch of its broker team in London in February this year.

Gilfeather joins the estate agency following over 20 years at John D Wood in the firm’s Primrose Hill office covering the Primrose Hill and Belsize Park markets.

Gilfeather will be working in conjunction with fellow North West London brokers Zach Madison, James Diaper and Sarah James. His appointment further strengthens the team’s offering and service to clients in Primrose Hill and Belsize Park, and bolsters Strutt & Parker’s North West London coverage of Hampstead, Highgate, St John’s Wood, Queen’s Park, and Regent’s Park.

Gilfeather will also be working with Strutt & Parker’s wider broker and Private Client team, alongside the network of Prime London offices and the wider national office network.

Claire Reynolds, UK head of sales at Strutt & Parker, commented: “Hamish is a brilliant addition to our broker team as we continue to expand our market share in prime target markets. His track record speaks for itself, with an impressive knowledge of micro-markets in Primrose Hill and Belsize Park, and an understanding of the nuances of this part of London. His love of the local area, extensive contact book, and client-first approach is a brilliant fit for our business as we continue our strategic growth plans.”

Gilfeather added: “Joining Strutt & Parker at this pivotal point in its growth journey is a brilliant opportunity not only for me, but for my many repeat clients who I am fortunate to have worked with for decades. I’m looking forward to bringing a client-focused, results-driven approach to new and existing clients in Primrose Hill and Belsize Park, and leveraging the highly regarded collegiate culture of Strutt & Parker as I service my clients in achieving their property requirements.”

Hamish is the latest appointment by Strutt & Parker in a series of hires in recent months in London including Alex Robinson, director, into its broker team, and those of Michael Harte and Reem Dougramaji as senior associate Directors in its Knightsbridge & Belgravia office.

Propertymark announces new presidential team

Propertymark has confirmed its new presidential team following its Annual General Meeting, with a number of members taking up new leadership positions across the organisation’s professional divisions.

The appointments take effect following Propertymark’s annual election process, with President Elects moving into presidential roles, Vice Presidents progressing through the leadership structure and board directors elected by members.

The changes come as the property sector prepares for a series of significant regulatory and operational reforms, including the government’s recently announced plans to overhaul the homebuying and selling process.

The new appointments are:

ARLA Propertymark

  • Kim Lidbury – President
  • Ben Stokes – President Elect
  • Michelle Masiglat-Cook – Vice President

NAEA Propertymark

  • Ian Harris – President
  • Stuart Matthews – President Elect
  • Craig Webster – Vice President
  • Michael Sears – Board Director (re-elected)

The new Presidents take office after serving as President Elects over the past year, while the incoming Vice Presidents begin a preparatory year ahead of moving through the organisation’s leadership structure.

Meanwhile, Stuart Collar-Brown will continue as President of NAVA Propertymark, representing members working within the auction sector.

Michael Sears, re-elected NAEA Propertymark Board Director, said: “I am honoured to have been re-elected to the Propertymark Board and grateful for the continued confidence of members. The Board plays a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring strong governance as we support property professionals across the UK. I look forward to continuing to work alongside colleagues on the Board, our Presidential teams and Propertymark staff to help deliver for members and maintain the highest standards across the sector.”

Kim Lidbury, President of ARLA Propertymark, commented: “I am incredibly honoured to take on the role of President of ARLA Propertymark. Having worked within the private rented sector for many years, I understand both the opportunities and challenges our members face. I look forward to championing professionalism, supporting our members and helping to ensure the sector continues to evolve in a way that benefits agents, landlords and tenants alike.”

Ian Harris, president of NAEA Propertymark, remarked: “It is a privilege to become President of NAEA Propertymark at such an important time for the property industry. Estate agents play a vital role in helping people move home and navigate what can often be one of life’s biggest decisions. I am committed to representing our members, promoting the highest professional standards and helping to strengthen confidence in our profession.”

Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, added: “On behalf of Propertymark, I would like to congratulate all our newly appointed Presidents, Vice Presidents and Board Directors. These positions play a vital role in representing members, promoting professional standards and helping shape the future of the property sector. We look forward to working closely with them as they champion the interests of property professionals across the UK.”

Propertymark also thanked outgoing Presidents Megan Eighteen and Mary-Lou Press for their service during their terms of office, which coincided with a period of significant change across the property sector.

The organisation said it will continue to focus on representing property professionals, promoting industry standards and supporting members across the sales, lettings and auction sectors.
