Agentic AI is quickly becoming one of the most active areas of Europe’s AI landscape. Unlike traditional AI tools that mainly generate text, images or summaries, agentic AI systems are designed to take action.

They can plan tasks, use tools, follow instructions, analyse results and adapt their next steps, making them useful for real business workflows rather than isolated prompts.

Across Europe, startups are applying this technology to very different sectors. Some are building AI agents for sales teams, legal work, insurance claims or business automation, while others are creating the infrastructure needed to make these systems reliable, secure and scalable.

What makes this wave interesting is its practical focus: instead of simply showcasing what AI can generate, these companies are trying to solve everyday problems, from speeding up paperwork and improving customer conversations to helping developers build software or giving enterprises more trustworthy data.

Below, we have put together what we believe are the top 10 most promising European startups developing AI agent solutions.

*All were founded between 2023 and 2026, and the list is organised alphabetically. All funding data sourced from Dealroom.co.

2501.ai

2501.ai: Founded in 2024, this Paris-based startup wants to make launching AI agents as simple as writing two lines of code. Instead of forcing companies to rebuild their tech setup, its platform lets teams deploy agents across cloud, on-premises or hybrid infrastructure.

This makes the startup especially relevant for businesses that want to experiment with AI agents without getting stuck in complex infrastructure work. By focusing on speed, flexibility and easy integration, 2501.ai is aiming to help developers and companies bring agentic AI into real-world workflows faster. Since its founding in 2024, 2501.ai has secured €9.49 million in total funding.

AMI - Advanced-Machine-Intelligence

AMI – Advanced Machine Intelligence: Paris-based AMI Labs is working on systems that can better understand the world around them. Using sensor data, its technology helps AI create internal models of physical and digital environments, so it can predict what might happen next and plan actions more safely.

One of the most eye-catching aspects of its work is its focus on world models, a type of AI designed to process complex real-world information and make sense of it. The goal is to support AI systems that can evaluate the consequences of their actions, with potential applications in industrial automation, robotics, wearable technology and healthcare. Founded in 2026, AMI Labs secured €858 million in total funding.

Agaton.

Agaton: Founded in 2024, this Stockholm-based startup is building AI agents for sales teams, turning customer conversations into insights that can help companies close more deals. Its platform analyses sales calls using proprietary voice AI, looking at both quantitative and qualitative signals to identify what is really driving revenue.

Its AI “workers” can listen analyse, and surface opportunities hidden inside customer conversations, focused on helping teams understand what works in the sales process and where deals may be won or lost. Agaton has managed to raise €8.4 million in funding.

Black-Forest-Labs

Black Forest Labs: Based in Germany, this AI startup is building some of Europe’s most closely watched image and video generation models. Its flagship product, FLUX.1, is designed to create high-quality visuals from text prompts, with strong attention to detail, visual quality and variety. Since its founding in 2024, Black Forest Labs has secured an impressive €372 million in funding.

Its tools are used by everyone from individual developers to large companies, with models available through platforms such as Replicate, fal.ai and Hugging Face. By combining open developer access with enterprise-grade solutions, Black Forest Labs has quickly become one of the standout names in Europe’s generative AI scene.

Legora

Legora: Launched in 2023, Legora is bringing agentic AI into the legal world, helping lawyers with research, review, drafting and workflow automation. Its AI-powered legal assistant is designed to answer legal questions using public sources as well as a firm’s own internal data.

What makes it stand out is its focus on reducing the repetitive, time-consuming work that legal professionals deal with every day. By helping law firms review documents, draft materials and access well-cited legal information faster, Legora aims to give lawyers more time for strategic work and client-facing tasks. This Swedish startup has raised €747 million in total funding.

linkup

Linkup: Founded in 2024, this Fresnes-based startup is developing a digital infrastructure specifically tailored for AI agents. This new framework aims to allow AIs to act as primary users of the internet, enabling them to access, process, and interact with web content in ways that are optimised for machine rather than human consumption.

The company’s ultimate goal is to build an internet ecosystem where AI and human interests align, fostering progress that benefits society as a whole. Linkup sees itself as a bridge-builder, creating the connections necessary for AI to actively engage with and contribute to societal growth. Since launching, Linkup has raised a total of €11.37 million.

Lovable

Lovable: The startup lets people build web apps by simply describing what they want in natural language. Instead of needing to code everything manually, users can interact with the platform as if they were speaking to an AI software engineer that can help create, deploy and improve applications.

They open software creation to people who may not have technical skills. By turning plain English instructions into working web apps, Lovable is helping bridge the gap between coders and non-coders, making it easier for founders, teams and businesses to bring digital products to life. Based in Stockholm and founded in 2023, this startup has raised €477 million in funding.

Maisa

Maisa: This Spanish startup, launched in 2024, is building AI agents that can carry out complex business tasks while showing exactly how they reached each result. Its platform is designed for companies that need more than a quick AI answer, especially in areas where accuracy, compliance and traceability matter.

Its technology, called the Vinci Knowledge Processing Unit, breaks down the steps behind each answer or action, helping businesses understand and audit the work done by its digital workers. The startup is targeting high-stakes sectors such as financial services, automotive, energy and cybersecurity, where mistakes can be costly. Since its founding, Maisa has raised €26 million in total funding.

MarvelX

MarvelX AI: Founded in 2025 in Amsterdam, MarvelX AI is bringing AI agents into the insurance industry. Its platform, ClaimOS MaX, connects with insurers’ existing systems and helps automate tasks such as claims handling, compliance checks and customer support.

Its AI agents can process claims documents, detect possible fraud and handle customer communications, helping reduce claim approval times from days to minutes. With experience from bunq, Google DeepMind and Plaid in the team, MarvelX AI has managed to secure €5.09 million in funding.

Nscale2

Nscale: Founded in 2024, this London-based startup is building the physical backbone needed for the AI boom. Instead of focusing on apps or chatbots, Nscale develops high-performance AI infrastructure, including data centres, GPU systems, networking, storage and managed software. This activity has brought them to secure €3.19 billion in total funding.

Its focus on sovereign AI makes it especially relevant in Europe, where companies and governments increasingly want more control over where their data and AI workloads are handled. With renewable-energy-powered data centres and partnerships with Nvidia, Microsoft and OpenAI, Nscale is helping build the large-scale computing infrastructure behind the next generation of AI.
