Copenhagen- and Berlin-based AI startup TODAY has raised €2.8 million in a seed round co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Insurtech Gateway, with participation from SeedX, Lucid Capital, former HDI CEO Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq. The company develops an AI-powered sales operating system for financial and insurance advisors, using AI agents to automate administrative tasks, transcribe client meetings, provide sales coaching and handle incoming calls while maintaining regulatory compliance. Already used by more than 3,500 advisors, TODAY will use the funding to accelerate platform development and commercialisation, expand across the DACH region, and extend its automation capabilities across advisors’ front- and back-office operations.
Financial and insurance advisors face increasing pressure to serve more clients while navigating regulatory requirements and changes across the industry. TODAY aims to address these challenges by automating routine tasks and supporting advisors throughout the client relationship process.
Its platform transcribes client meetings, captures information from conversations, handles back-office tasks, provides sales coaching and answers incoming calls. By bringing these functions into one system, the company aims to reduce administrative workloads and allow advisors to spend more time with clients.
According to TODAY, advisors using its platform save an average of five hours per week on administrative work and can generate up to 10% more revenue. The company also reports that its technology enables advisors to capture an average of 50 times more insights from client conversations than before.
Founded by CEO Michael Gackstatter and CTO Artem Demchenkov, TODAY draws on the founders’ previous experience in financial technology and insurance technology companies, including CLARK, Funding Circle and Billie.
“While AI reshuffles financial advice, we scale the human touch. Our agents take over the admin, so advisors can spend their time with clients. With our strong investors on board, we will bring this to every advisory team in DACH,” says Michael Gackstatter, TODAY CEO.
The seed round was co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds, a German early-stage investor, and Insurtech Gateway, a specialist investor and incubator for insurance technology companies. SeedX and Lucid Capital also participated, alongside angel investors Herbert Rogenhofer and Pierre Dubosq.
“Michael and Artem combine rare experience in scaling financial services businesses with an exceptional ability to execute at speed. As technological and demographic shifts make financial services sales increasingly complex and cumbersome, we are convinced that they are building the vertical AI layer that will remove this friction from sales professionals’ day-to-day work,” comments Tizian Hoppen, Senior Investment Manager at HTGF.
The new capital will support further development and commercialisation of TODAY’s platform as it expands its presence across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The company also plans to extend its AI agents across more of the advisory workflow, covering both client-facing activities and back-office operations.
“Michael and Artem combine deep industry knowledge with a strong track record of execution. What impressed us most was how closely they work with advisers to build products that solve real operational challenges. TODAY is addressing a clear need for greater efficiency, stronger compliance and better customer outcomes across the advisory value chain. By helping firms acquire, retain and serve customers more effectively, while giving advisers more time to focus on clients, the team has built a highly compelling proposition. We’re delighted to support them on the next stage of their growth journey,” states Robert Lumley, Co-Founder at Insurtech Gateway.
TODAY says more than 3,500 advisors at insurers, distributors and brokerage firms already use its software. The company aims to build on these deployments as financial services providers look for ways to improve operational efficiency while meeting compliance requirements.
“The next wave of AI in insurance won’t be about experiments; it will be about embedding intelligence into the daily workflow of every advisor. Michael and Artem understand this industry from the inside and have the track record to execute. TODAY has the opportunity to turn AI into a true productivity layer for advisors, and we at SeedX are thrilled to support the team on that journey,” says Mathias Jaeggi, Partner, SeedX.
