The Global Deep Tech Awards programme will bring a selection of research-driven startups, university spinouts and technology ventures to the main stage of NORDEEP, taking place on 16–17 September 2026 in Espoo, Finland.

The programme, presented as the Global Deep Tech Showcase at NORDEEP, is designed to give companies working on technically complex technologies an opportunity to present their products and underlying technology to investors, researchers and corporate technology leaders. The showcase is powered by SiRA, with participating companies evaluated through a structured assessment process before being selected for the stage.

Rather than following a conventional startup pitch format, the showcase will use a strict five-minute presentation structure. Companies will have three minutes to demonstrate their technology and explain the underlying scientific or engineering approach, followed by two minutes of questions from a field-specific jury.

The jury format is intended to bring technical and commercial perspectives into the same discussion. Panels will include deep tech venture capitalists and angel investors alongside academic researchers, applied scientists and corporate technology leaders or innovation buyers.

The programme will cover eight areas of deep technology, including deep tech commercialisation and scale; quantum and future computing; chips, photonics and AI infrastructure; physical AI and robotics; life sciences and engineered biology; energy, materials and circular industry; security, resilience and dual-use technologies; and space systems and Earth intelligence.

Companies selected for the showcase will also be required to state a clear commercial objective at the end of their presentation. This could include seeking investment, corporate pilot partners, manufacturing support or distribution opportunities.

The connection between the Global Deep Tech Awards and NORDEEP is intended to provide a structured route from technical evaluation to exposure in front of the wider deep tech ecosystem. Selected companies will receive a five-minute main-stage slot, investor-led Q&A, inclusion in the official NORDEEP programme and a public SiRA profile. They may also be considered for participation in the event’s Discovery Zone and for recognition through the Global Deep Tech Awards.

Applications for the showcase are open until 7 September at 14:00 EEST, with selected companies expected to be notified on 11 September. Final presentation materials and technical requirements will be due on 14 September.

The Global Deep Tech Showcase will take place during NORDEEP’s fifth anniversary edition on 16–17 September 2026. The event is expected to bring together founders, investors, corporate leaders, researchers and other participants from the deep tech ecosystem.

Participation in the showcase does not guarantee investment, meetings, pilots or other commercial outcomes.

Visit NORDEEP’s website to learn more about the programme and apply.
