Oslo-based defence tech startup Six Robotics has raised €12 million in a seed equity round led by venture investor DTCP, with participation from Denmark’s state-backed fund EIFO and Copenhagen-based VC firm Scale Capital, to accelerate the development of its autonomy software platform for unmanned systems. The company builds swarm-capable autonomy technology that enables multiple drones and unmanned platforms to operate collaboratively and adapt in real time across complex and contested environments, with close input from Norwegian defence institutions. The new capital will be used to speed up product development, expand deployments across European and allied defence markets, and significantly scale the team as demand grows for software-defined autonomy in modern warfare, positioning Six Robotics to move from early-stage validation into broader operational adoption.
Six Robotics is a defence technology company founded in 2023 that develops software for autonomous coordination of unmanned systems. The company focuses on enabling multiple drones and robotic platforms to operate collaboratively in complex environments through a shared autonomy layer, with an emphasis on swarm coordination and real-time adaptability. It works in collaboration with Norwegian defence institutions, including the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), to align its development with operational requirements. Headquartered in Oslo, Six Robotics is building its platform for use cases across European and NATO-aligned defence markets.
“Collaborative autonomy will define the next decade of defence. Europe cannot afford to depend on others for the software that defines what its forces can do. That is what Six Robotics is for, and this round is how we accelerate it,” said Christian Fredrik Eggesbø, CEO and Founder of Six Robotics.
The company focuses on swarm autonomy as a force multiplier, enabling multiple systems to operate together more effectively and adaptively, including in contested and degraded environments where traditional systems face limitations.
Six Robotics develops its technology in close collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), ensuring alignment with real operational requirements.
The round brings together European investors with expertise in defence, technology scaling, and strategic industrial development.
DTCP leads the round through DTCP Defence, a recently launched €500 million venture capital fund dedicated exclusively to defence, security, and resilience technologies.
“Software-defined autonomy and swarming at scale are among the most technically challenging areas in modern defence, and Six Robotics is one of the few European teams with the capability to build at this level. Their software-first approach enables interoperability across platforms while giving defence organisations greater operational flexibility. We have great trust in Christian Fredrik and the team, and look forward to the journey ahead,” said Ole Aguirre, partner at DTCP Defence.
EIFO, Denmark’s state-owned export and investment fund with a dedicated strategic agenda to scale the European defence industry, and Scale Capital, a Copenhagenbased venture capital firm investing in Europe’s critical technologies, join as coinvestors.
“EIFO invests in Six Robotics to accelerate defence innovation that can benefit Denmark and our allies. The company’s hardware-agnostic drone swarming and autonomy platform is at the forefront of the technologies that will be decisive in the future of warfare. We wish to strengthen the Nordic collaboration and support that the company plans to set up activities in Denmark later in 2026,” said Sara Sande, Managing Director, Partner, and Head of Direct Thematic Venture at EIFO.
The rapid adoption of unmanned systems is increasing the demand for autonomous capabilities across the defence sector. Six Robotics is developing the software designed to position Europe at the forefront of that transition.
“Norway has emerged as one of the most exciting defence technology and robotics ecosystems in Europe, and Six Robotics is one of the best examples of why. What the team has built already in this extremely critical space is remarkable, and we’re excited to help scale it internationally,” said Lars Jensen, Founding Partner at Scale Capital.
With the Seed round closed, Six Robotics can now accelerate across all fronts, building both technical and operational capacity nationally and internationally, without losing the speed and focus that got the company here.
“We built Six Robotics from five people to almost 80 employees with friends and family funding. Now, for the first time, we have the backing to match our ambitions. DTCP, EIFO, and Scale Capital have already proven their value through the process itself, and I look forward to what we can build together”, said Christian Fredrik Eggesbø, CEO and Founder of Six Robotics.
