Nordic data center firm Hyperco is looking to develop another data center in Finland.
Local press, including Yle and Kouvolan Sanomat, report the company has filed to develop a second data center in Koria, Kouvola.
A permit application was filed earlier this month. Hyperco is aiming to develop a two-story data center that could total 100MW across 56,670 sqm (609,990 sq ft).
The Kouvola Technical Committee will consider the permit application on Tuesday, June 16.
Hyperco has requested that it be allowed to start construction work before the building permit actually comes into effect, saying foundations are easier to build before the ground freezes in winter.
Kouvola is a city in Finland and the administrative capital of Kymenlaakso, some 135km (83 miles) northeast of the Finnish capital, Helsinki.
Construction work on Hyperco’s first data center in Koria began last year, with work on the single-story scheduled to be completed in May 2027. Being developed alongside DayOne, that site is set to serve TikTok.
The second data center would be located on an adjacent plot.
Founded in 2020, Hyperco was acquired by Edgnex, the data center arm of Dubai real estate firm Damac, in April 2025.
The company acquired its first data center from Finnish family office TS-Yhtymä for more than €35 million ($36.4m) in 2022. At the time, the 16,900 sqm (181,900 sq ft) property, in Vantaa, had two long-term tenants: Equinix and Thales.
Hyperco also has projects in development across Espoo, Pyhäjoki, and Lohja. Hyperco is also linked to another site in the Voikkaa industrial area in Kouvola.
