ABB has expanded its partnership with Nvidia, agreeing to integrate digital models of its power infrastructure products into Nvidia’s Omniverse DSX blueprint platform, permitting data center developers to simulate and validate electrical systems before construction.
The deal will see Nvidia integrate ABB’s SimReady 3D digital assets, including medium-voltage switchgear, electrical distribution equipment, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, into its digital design environment.
According to ABB, the platform will enable engineers to model source-to-rack power distribution and evaluate electrical, thermal, and computing systems within a single digital twin before ordering prefabricated infrastructure modules.
“Through this collaboration, ABB provides the electrification technology leadership that AI demands,” said Jorge Lis, global data center segment leader, ABB Electrification. “Time-to-first-token drives infrastructure decisions: DSX integration gives our customers a proven path from design to deployment, backed by ABB’s global manufacturing reach and local engineering expertise. We deliver the electrical backbone these facilities need to scale at speed.”
The latest collaboration builds on an agreement announced in October 2025 that focused on developing 800V direct current (VDC) power architecture for next-generation AI data centers.
ABB said the integration is intended to support the growing power requirements of AI facilities, where future computing racks may exceed one megawatt of power demand and require medium-voltage distribution, DC power systems, advanced protection technologies, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
The companies said the integration will allow developers to test infrastructure performance against expected AI workloads before deployment, with the goal of reducing design timelines and improving project execution.
Over recent years, ABB has been significantly expanding its data center offering through a series of acquisitions. In February, the firm acquired Irish electrical engineering consultancy Premium Power to expand its advisory capabilities within the data center market.
Before this, the company acquired IPEC, a UK specialist in electrical diagnostics. In the same month, it acquired a minority stake in OctaiPipe, a UK-based AI firm focused on optimizing data center cooling systems.
