Datacenter Munster Osnabrück (DMO) has brought its data center outside Munster, Germany, online.
Located at Munster Osnabrück Airport, the first phase of the facility, offering 1MW of capacity, has been online since April 15.
The facility has been in the works since 2022, and the construction of the data center began in January 2025.
Around €10 million ($11.7m) was invested into the project, and some of the data center’s power demands will be met by a 650kWp photovoltaic system.
An additional construction phase – capacity unspecified – is set to begin operations in two years.
Founded in October 2024, DMO GmbH is a subsidiary of German IT services firm Items GmbH and TKRZ Stadtwerke GmbH. Owned by local utility Stadtwerke Emsdetten, TKRZ is a local IT service provider and ISP serving Emsdetten, Mesum, and Hauenhorst.
Munster is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, western Germany.
