Two self-employed estate agency models, iad UK and Avocado, have announced a new partnership aimed at expanding their presence in the market.
The companies describe the move as a strategic alliance designed to help agents grow their businesses, although it remains unclear whether the agreement involves a full acquisition of Avocado by iad UK. Both firms have been approached for clarification.
They say the combined operation will offer a broader platform for agents looking to build sustainable, long-term businesses.
Lee O’Brien, MD of iad UK, posted on LinkedIn: “After months of work behind the scenes, we’ve brought together two businesses with a shared belief, that the future of Estate Agency belongs to empowered, self-employed agents backed by the right platform.
“Today, we’re announcing a strategic alliance between iad UK and Avocado Property, and it marks our biggest step forward since launching in the UK.
“The market is moving quickly. Over the next five years, the agents who win will be those who combine strong local expertise with the infrastructure to scale. That’s exactly what this alliance delivers.”
He added: “Avocado Property brings: a marketing-led approach that drives results; a genuine “people before property” culture; proven momentum, with 5,000-families moved.
“iad brings: a self-employed platform designed to help agents earn more and grow faster; systems, training and infrastructure built to scale; a powerful European network of over 20,000
“This isn’t about getting bigger for the sake of it. It’s about getting better.
“Better support, better standards, better systems, better opportunities for agents to build something with real long-term value.
“And most importantly, self-employed doesn’t mean going it alone. It means having ownership over what you build, backed by a platform that helps you perform at your best.”
