The company recently purchased Finland’s Aidon
Gridspertise, a company that belongs to Milan-listed energy giant Enel and CVC Capital Partners since 2022 (see here a previous post by BeBeez), acquired Dutch Energyworx, a provider of solutions for the cloud management of energy data, from Portugal’s EDP Ventures, and Netherlands’ SET Ventures and OWV Beheer (press release).
In 2024, Gridspertise acquired Aidon, a Finnish competitor (press release).
Enel spun-off Gridspertise, an energy smart meters company, in 2021 and the firm became independent in 2022, the same year in which CVC invested 300 million euros for acquiring a 50% stake.
Between 2016 and 2021, Energyworx secured five investment round worth a total of 8.24 million US Dollars. In July 2021, the company attracted the resources of Dutch lead investor Eneco.

In 1H25 Energywork 200 customers worldwide, delivered over 114 million smart meters and connected over one million energy metering points with its metering service.
In 2024, Gridspertise generated a 396.7 million turnover with an ebitda of 28.7 million, 33.7 million cash, and equity of 106.7 million (see here Leanus report).
