The firms are going to launch two ad hoc structures products for the investment platform that has aum of 150 billion euros in 18 European countries
Trade Republic, a global investment platform for retail investors operating in 18 European countries and with 150 billion euros of aum, signed a double partnership with Apollo Global Management and EQT for the development of two soon-to-be available private markets products (press release).
The clients of Trade Republic will be able to invest at least one euro in private markets through shares fractioning and sell monthly on the platform marketplace. Trade Republic will offer its customers a 1% bonus on every investment in private markets made within the first 30 days, with no upper limit.
Christian Hecker, the co-founder of Trade Republic, said: “Long-term wealth creation goes beyond a simple accumulation plan in ETFs. It is the combination of different asset classes. We are now growing Trade Republic from brokerage to wealth management. Everyone in Europe should have the opportunity to invest like large wealth holders, easily, safely and at the lowest possible cost. After the expansion into banking, with current accounts and cards, this is the most significant step since our foundation. With Apollo and EQT we have secured two of the world’s leading managers in private markets as strategic partners for our clients.”
Peter Beske Nielsen, EQT Global Head of Private Wealth & Evergreen Solutions, added: “Today, most individual investors’ portfolios are limited to ETFs and equities of listed companies, despite the fact that public markets represent only a fraction of the investable economy. By partnering with Trade Republic, we offer access to a global, diversified private markets portfolio through EQT’s established strategies, an opportunity hitherto reserved for institutional investors.”
Veronique Fournier, Apollo Head of EMEA Global Wealth, commented: “This new partnership combines Apollo’s experience with Trade Republic’s innovative capacity. We are reaching out to a much wider audience of investors across Europe. Together, we look forward to contributing to the continued democratisation of private markets”.
