Lithuanian startup Alfa Space has raised €315K in a pre-seed round, with support from business angels committed to advancing education through technology. The company’s AI-powered platform is designed to improve mathematics learning for students in grades 5-12 by offering a personalized and interactive experience. Co-founders Paulius Serva, Emilija Platūkytė, Tomas Sipko, and Vilius Jastremskas developed the platform to tackle ongoing issues in math education, featuring over 700 digital lessons and 15,000 exercises. With this funding, Alfa Space plans to scale its platform internationally and tailor it to meet the needs of different educational systems.
Alfa Space, an EdTech startup, emerged after years of research into global education trends and evolving student needs. Founded in 2021, the company set out to address the challenges of teaching mathematics, a subject many students find difficult to engage with. The platform, which first launched in April 2024, initially targeted 12th-grade students preparing for Lithuania’s state math exam. Now expanded to support students from grades 5-12, it offers personalized learning experiences powered by artificial intelligence.
The platform provides over 700 lessons and 15,000 tasks, adapting to the individual learning pace of each student. By applying active learning techniques, Alfa Space aims to improve knowledge retention. In addition to helping students, the platform offers tools to assist teachers in managing tasks such as lesson preparation and homework assignments. Alfa Space hopes to contribute to improving math education in Lithuania by offering a more flexible and accessible learning environment.
