Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Tier Mobility on the sale of nextbike to Star Capital.
The sale was preceded by a spin-off of nextbike that was driven by differences in business and operating models. nextbike focuses on subsidized bike-sharing contracts with customer cities, while Tier’s core business is business-to-consumer sharing e-scooters and e-bikes. The transaction is expected to close in May.
White & Case previously advised Tier on the acquisition of nextbike as well as on previous acquisitions and sales, including most recently its merger with Dott and the acquisition and subsequent sale of US micro-mobility company Spin.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partner Carola Glasauer (Frankfurt) and local partner Albrecht Schaefer (Frankfurt) and included partners Dan Turgel (London), Bodo Bender, Sebastian Stütze (both Frankfurt) and Thilo Wienke (Düsseldorf), local partners Mathias Bogusch (Frankfurt) and Bartosz Smardzewski (Warsaw) and associates Angus Nunn (London), Michael Grambow, Alexander Sansotta, Carsten Schreiner and Reetu Vishwakarma (all Frankfurt).
