Milan-based medtech Tensive received from The European Investment Bank (EIB) a two-tranches 20 million euros convertible venture debt facility that is part of the European Commission’s InvestEU programme (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Pavia e Ansaldo assisted for the 8 and 12 million loans while Legance advised The EIB. Tensive will invest such resources in the development and marketing of Regenera, a bioresorbable device for the natural restoration of breast volume following conservative cancer surgery. The company aims to raise a further 20 million in equity. In 2025, Tensive attracted 14 million from Panakès Partners, EIC Fund – CDP, Recomec, and other investors. The firm also appointed Sanjay Kakkar as ceo. Irini Gerges, Margherita Tamplenizza, Federico Martello and Alessandro Tocchio founded Tensive in 2012. Gelsomina Vigliotti is EIB’s vicepresident. Red Circle Investments, the investment holding of Renzo Rosso, rose to 60% its stake in Italian foodtech Cortilia through the subscription of a 10 million euros capital increase that also attracted the resources of Indaco Venture, Primo Capital, Five Seasons Ventures, ceo Andrea Colombo (current 0.91% owner) and cfo Maximiliano Volpi (0.46%) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Cortilia now belongs to Indaco (12.25%), Five Seasons (7.47%), Primo Ventures (4.27%), and Azimut Libera Impresa (1.22%), Gaspar Santoja Menendez de Luarca (0.97%). Biorsaf acquired Cooki and attracted 5.2 million euros from P101 (lead investor), Maia Ventures, Farming Future (CDP Venture Capital – ToSeed & Partners), and Toscana Next (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company will invest such resources in its proprietary technology and organic growth. P101 retained Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici. Biorsaf and Cooki received assistance from DATYCA Legal Design Lab. In March 2025, Biosarf received 1.4 million from Maia Ventures, Farming Future and Toscana Next. Marco Papalini (ceo), Lorenzo Messana (coo), Dario Carotenuto (cio), and Giuseppe Longhitano (cfo) founded Biosarf in 2021. Giuseppe Grammatico is the founder of Cooki. Bynario secured a 2.1 million euros pre-seed round that 360 Capital led and Prana Ventures joined (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Alfredo Pesoli, Lorenzo Cavallaro (cso), Giancarlo Russo (coo), Alberto Ornaghi (cto), and Marco Valleri (Chief AI) founded the company that will invest such proceeds in its proprietary technology. Cesare Maifredi is a partner of 360 Capital.
Mama Insurance, an Italian AI-based insurtech, secured an undisclosed round from lead investor Fastweb+Vodafone, Founders Factory and Vento – Exor (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company raised above 2 million euros in equity, grants and debt since ceo Leonida Fini Zarri founded it in 2025 with the support of NeXXt Ventures, an incubation programme of Fastweb and Founders Factory. Mama Insurance acts as Managing General Agent for the distribution of Chubb European Group’s products. Alessandro Magnino is the chief strategy & transformation officer of Fastweb+Vodafone. Damian Routley is the chief operating officer of Founders Factory.
Lexroom, an AI-based legaltech, said it acquired French Query Juriste and Bulgaria’s Praven Intelekt (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Etienne Le Guay, Maxence Mortagne and Emile-Luciano Lombardo are the are the founders of Query Juriste and will keep their operative roles as well as Praven Intelekt’s creators Siyanna Lilova, Rangel Milushev and Christian Tsanov who will become Lexroom’s Head of Central and Eastern Europe. Techshop, an investment firm that Aurelio Mezzotero and Gianluca D’Agostino founded in 2021, said it attracted 43 million euros to invest in pre-seed and seed rounds of AI-based startups ahead of a 100 million target (see here a previous post by BeBeez). CDP Venture Capital acted as cornerstone investor and poured the resources of NextGenerationEU in the deal. Techshop’s investment thesis assumes that the integration of AI will make the B2B software and SaaS market ten times larger in terms of value and depth, by automating decisions, operational workflows and activities in key sectors such as consultancy, healthcare, finance, software development, data management and robotics. Huspy acquired credit broker Integra Finance from FCgroup Holding and said it planned 75 million euros investments for the next five years in Italy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Enrico Quadri and Samuele Lupidii will keep their roles as Integra’s ceo and chairman. Jad Antoun and Ziad Nassar founded Huspy in Dubai in 2020 and since then raised 200 million US Dollars from Peak XV (fka Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Balderton Capital, Founders Fund, Fifth Wall, ExBorder Partners, Turmeric Capital, BY Ventures, Dara Management, COTU Ventures, and KE Partners.
NYSE-listed Ciena acquired Italian deep tech PhotonPath, a company that Douglas Aguiar and Emanuele Guglielmi founded in 2019 as a spin off from Milan Polytechnic University (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Join Capital, 360 Capital, Deep Ocean Capital, Levante Capital, Brembo Ventures, CDP Venture Capital, TEF-Tech Europe Foundation (fka PoliHUb) and other investors sold their stakes in PhotonPath after having supported the company with 8.3 million euros between 2019 and 2025. Aguiar will join Ciena as vice president and keep his role in PhotonPath as well as the target’s other managers. Cesare Maifredi is a partner of 360 Capital. Emilia Garito is the chairwoman of Deep Ocean Capital. Claudia Pingue, senior partner, is the head of CDP Venture Capital Technology Transfer Funds.
