Dutch scientific research organization TNO is spinning out a cooling technology company, and is on the hunt for a CEO to lead the new venture.
The new company, known as CoolMicro, has been set up to commercialize a microfluidic thermal management technology developed by TNO.
Writing on LinkedIn, TNO director Mark Courage said: “By leveraging phase change at microscale, CoolMicro enables highly efficient heat removal for next-generation AI, high-performance computing, and semiconductor applications.
“As AI workloads continue to grow, thermal management is becoming one of the key bottlenecks for performance, energy efficiency, and scalability. CoolMicro aims to change that.”
For the CEO role, the company is looking for “a technically driven entrepreneur to form the company’s technological backbone.”
The job advert said: “We need someone who understands and further develops the TNO technology, steers the technical roadmap, possesses experience in operations and supply chain management, and – together with the commercial co-founder – builds a strong team to grow the company from a venture into a successful scale-up.”
TNO is looking for a candidate with ten years experience in technology development, as well as “experience in data center infrastructure, AI, high-performance computing (HPC), or similar ecosystems.”
The position is based in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Previous TNO projects relating to digital infrastructure include Tuna-5, a cloud-based quantum computing system launched last year in collaboration with a host of other organizations.
