Pure Data Centers’ climate tech subsidiary, A Healthier Earth (AHE), has launched an integrated carbon removal platform, which it claims is the first in the data center market.

According to the company, the platform will specifically target a scalable, financeable supply of high-integrity biochar and carbon credits for hyperscalers, global corporates, and institutional buyers across Europe and beyond.

Pure DC said that by embedding carbon removal directly into the development model, it will redefine the industry’s economics and environmental standards.

“What we’re doing at Pure DC is the first of its kind anywhere in the world. In Dublin we’ve demonstrated that net zero carbon, self-powered data centers are deliverable. Now, with our Biochar Integrated Carbon Removal from AHE, we’re making them scalable,” said Gary Wojtaszek, executive chairman & interim CEO, Pure DC. “This isn’t incremental improvement; it’s a complete reset of how this sector will be built going forward.”

To support the platform’s development, AHE will expand capabilities across commercial, scientific, and operational functions, which it claims will permit the company to deliver carbon removal at an infrastructure scale.

The platform will combine AHE’s own production capabilities with partner-developed projects. Grouped into tranches, all projects operate across a single set of standards and governance. According to the company, this will provide buyers with a de-risked, large-scale offering of high-quality carbon removal credits. All the credits generated by the platform will be certified under the Isometric Standard and supported by Mangrove System’s digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (dMRV) software.

The platform adds to Pure DC’s sustainability efforts. Last year, the company announced that it would construct what it claims is the world’s largest living wall at its campus in North London. The 7,400 sqm (79,642 sq ft) installation will adorn the second building at the company’s Brent Cross campus after planning permission for the wall was granted.

Pure was established in 2015 and is backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management. The London-based company currently has more than 250MW of IT capacity in operation or development in markets across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
