The AI giant aims to launch a NYSE IPO in October 2026
NYSE-listed Google (Alphabet) will invest up to 40 billion US Dollars in Anthropic, the AI unicorn developer of Claude that Italian American siblings Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei founded and is now considering to launch an IPO in October 2026, Bloomberg reported pointing out that the target will attract an immediate cash commitment of 10 billion on the ground of a conservative pre-money value of 350 billion (the same as the February 2026 30 billion Series G round that GIC led with Coatue – see here a previous post by BeBeez). Google also committed to invest a further 30 billion in Anthropic upon the achievement of targets. Bloomberg says that investors reportedly want to acquire a stake in Anthropic on the ground of an enterprise value of 800 billion or more.
Google Cloud will also supply Anthropic with a computing power of 5 gigawatt in the next five years and expand such a support in the mid and long-term as the companies and Broadcom partially agreed on 6 April, Monday (press release) including in such a deal also multiples of TPU capacities (the investor’s proprietary chips that compete with NYSE-listed giant Nvidia’s GPUs) to make available online from 2027.
In 2023, Google invested 300 million for a 10% of Anthropic and later poured a further 2 billion for raising such a stake to 14%.
On 22 April, Wednesday, Anthropic said it attracted 5 billion US Dollars from NYSE-listed Amazon with which signed a partnership and a potential commitment for future investments worth a further 20 billion. On the other hand, Anthropic said it will invest 100 billion in 10 years for implementing a 5 GW computing AWS and achieving revenues of 30 billion. (see here a previous post by BeBeez). In November 2024, Amazon supported Anthropic with 8 billion (see here a previous post by BeBeez) bringing the group’s total investment in the scale-up to al 13 billion already committed that may increase to 33 billion.
In April 2026, the annualised sales of Anthropic amounted to 30 billion (one billion at the end of 2024 and 9 billion at the end of 2025).
