On 22 April, Wednesday, NYSE-Listed Robinhood Ventures Fund said it poured equity worth 75 million US Dollars in OpenAI (press release).
Robinhood Ventures Fund is a closed-end fund that invests in Frontier Companies, the best-in-class players in their sectors. The vehicle listed on NYSE on 6 March, Friday, with an initial market capitalization of 658.4 million or 25 US Dollars per share (press release). RVI does not require limited partners to subscribe a least investment ticket, nor it charges any carried interest.
The fund’s current portfolio includes OpenAi, Airwallex, Boom, Databricks, ElevenLabs (20 million), Mercor, OpenAI, Oura, Ramp, Revolut, and Stripe (14.6 million) di dollari (press release).
OpenAI recently raised 122 billion from Amazon (50 billion), NVIDIA (30 billion), SoftBank (30 billion), Microsoft, a16z, Sequoia, Blackstone, BlackRock, and further investors for a post-money value of 852 billion (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
OpenAI also attracted the resources of Exchange Traded Fnds of ARK Invest and more than 3 billion from retail investors.
Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt founded Nasdaq-listed and Menlo Park based Robinhood in 2013 with the aim of democratising finance. The company launched a trading app that allows to buy and sell financial products and instruments at zero fees.
