With more than 25 years at the center of the digital infrastructure ecosystem, InfraXmedia has established itself as the industry’s definitive go-to-market platform, connecting operators, technology providers, investors, and policymakers through its global events, media, and intelligence platforms.
Today, the company announced the launch of the AI Cities Summit Series, a new global initiative designed to support national, regional, and city-level governments in planning, attracting, and scaling AI infrastructure.
As artificial intelligence adoption accelerates, demand for data centers, power, and digital infrastructure is reshaping economic development strategies worldwide.
Governments are under increasing pressure to secure investment, manage energy constraints, and balance sustainability with growth, yet many lack the frameworks, partnerships, and market visibility required to act at pace.
The AI Cities Summit Series has been created to address this gap. The initiative will convene policymakers, energy providers, technology leaders, investors, and data center operators to provide governments with direct access to the expertise, partnerships, and practical insights required to capitalize on the AI infrastructure opportunity. The platform is designed to move beyond discussion, enabling collaboration between public and private sectors to accelerate decision-making around site selection, permitting, energy strategy, and long-term economic positioning.
First European edition confirmed in Zaragoza with support from the Government of Aragon
The inaugural AI Cities Summit Europe will take place on 16–17 February 2027 in Zaragoza, supported by the Government of Aragon. Aragon has emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure hubs, attracting more than $90 billion in investment.
The region has combined streamlined permitting, strong policy alignment, abundant renewable energy, and land availability to position itself as a credible alternative to established markets such as FLAP-D. This transformation has enabled Aragon to evolve from a traditional energy exporter into a strategic hub for AI infrastructure deployment.
Jose Friebel, Chief Growth Officer at InfraXmedia, said: “The rapid rise of AI infrastructure presents one of the most significant economic opportunities for governments in decades, but also one of the most complex to navigate.
“The AI Cities Summit Series is designed to give governments direct access to the insights, partnerships, and proven models they need to compete effectively in this new landscape. Aragon is a clear example of what can be achieved with the right alignment of policy, energy, and investment, making Zaragoza a natural starting point for the series.”
Mar Vaquero, Vice President of the Government of Aragon, stated: “Our region has positioned itself as one of the world’s leading technological hubs thanks to the multi-billion dollar investments it has received. However, we do not want to be just the location where the main industry leaders are based; we also aspire to be a center for debate and knowledge, where we can all actively participate and decide on the present and future of the sector.”
A global platform for a structural shift
The AI Cities Summit Series will expand internationally following its European launch, with a Latin American edition planned for Rio de Janeiro in 2027, and additional summits across North America, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific in development. Each summit will act as a regional hub, enabling governments to benchmark against leading markets, understand infrastructure, energy, and investment dynamics, engage directly with operators and capital providers, and build actionable strategies to attract and scale AI infrastructure.
The series reflects a broader structural shift: digital infrastructure is no longer a supporting layer of the economy, but a primary driver of regional competitiveness, investment attraction, and long-term growth.
As an official partner of the AI Cities Summit Series, Infrastructure Masons will play a key role in supporting industry collaboration and knowledge exchange across the global program.
Cyré Mercedes Quiñones, CEO of Infrastructure Masons (iMasons), said: “Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way cities will be designed, powered, and connected — and getting that right requires deep collaboration between industry, governments, and energy providers. The AI Cities Summit Series creates an important platform to align stakeholders, share best practices, and accelerate the delivery of resilient and sustainable digital infrastructure that will underpin the next phase of global economic growth.”
