French energy and water utility Veolia is launching a new integrated platform designed to address environmental and operational challenges facing the data center sector.
According to the company, its platform will support the development of data centers into carbon-neutral, water-positive, circular hubs, boasting up to 20 percent more energy reuse, a 75 percent smaller water footprint, and 95 percent waste recycling and reuse.
The company will focus on several priority growth markets, including the US, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. As part of the drive, the company has targeted more than €1 billion ($1.17bn) in annual revenue from the data center and microelectronics market.
Commenting on the news, Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of Veolia, said: “This next-generation offering is designed to support the growth of the strategic digital infrastructure that shapes today’s world. We are proud to be the first and only company delivering a truly global, integrated, and circular solution for data centers.
“This is a strategic market, at the crossroads of the digital and ecological revolutions. At a time when environmental security has become a geostrategic issue, and access to key resources such as water and energy is increasingly critical, helping operators make data centers more resource-efficient, resilient, and connected to their communities is essential. We can help turn these infrastructures into true allies of local communities, delivering environmental value with digital performance.”
The company claims that it is uniquely positioned to meet the demand due to its deep expertise and a global footprint, which it claims will enable “clients to scale operations responsibly, minimizing environmental impact while increasing resilience.”
The company also boasted that its global client portfolio, which includes the likes of TSMC, Micron, Samsung, Intel, AWS, Echelon, and Tesla, to name a few, will enable it to scale its solutions effectively across a range of markets.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Veolia, alongside SDC Capital Partners, was the backer of a proposed 300MW data center campus in Buckinghamshire.
Based out of Aubervilliers, France, Veolia is one of the largest environmental services companies in the world, operating in more than 50 countries. The company specializes in waste management, water management, and energy services.
