Diriyah Company, a real estate platform that the country’s sovereign vehicle Public Investment Fund (PIF) launched in 2022 and that ceo Jerry Inzerillo heads, is developing such an urban community close to Riyadh for more than 100000 residents. This project is worth 63.2 billion US Dollars and aims restoring the historic cradle of the modern Saudi kingdom and includes At-Turaif, a site that is part of UNESCO heritage. The 15 residences are in Diriyah Square, close to Armani Hotel Diriyah, opened in November 2024. Giorgio Armani supervised the custom-made interior design of all houses. The Armani Residences Diriyah include three different concepts: The Palm Residences, The Botanical Residences and The Royal Penthouses.
Each of the 1200 – 1900 sqms residences has a suite with three bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, luxurious formal living and dining rooms, family lounges, a library and a swimming pool, and the iconic Tower of Light stair. Every accommodation also has a hall, a private elevator and the direct access to a personal underground car park. Armani/Casa will provide each house with tailor-made furniture. Armani Hotel Diriyah will grant residents with the exclusive access to all premium facilities.
In Diriyah there are 300 branded luxury residences such as Baccarat Residences Diriyah, Corinthia Residences Diriyah, Raffles Residences Diriyah, The Signature Villas of Raffles Residences Diriyah, The Ritz-Carlton Residences Diriyah, and The Signature Collection of Ritz-Carlton Diriyah.
In April 2025, Diriyah Company signed a 1.4 billion joint venture contract for the development of iconic Royal Diriyah Opera House with El Seif Engineering Contracting Co. Ltd., (ESEC), Midmac Construction Co. Ltd., and China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. (CSCEC) (press release). The Royal Commission for Riyadh City will manage the main opera house that will seat up to 2,000 people and be the largest in Saudi Arabia. The Royal Diriyah Opera House will also include a studio theatre, a shaded rooftop amphitheatre and multipurpose halls that will bring the total capacity to 3,100 seats.
In March 2025, Diriyah Company launched the area’s Media and Innovation District for hosting global media firms, creative agencies and professionals looking for a collaborative ecosystem with state-of-the-art infrastructure and a strategic location close to Arena Diriyah that will have 20000 seats (press release). The above 250000 sqms business area, will also have 450 residences, 15000 sqms for shops and restaurants and 1 Hotel Diriyah, the first luxury accommodation in the Middle East for the brand that will have 325 rooms with local and sustainable resources.
