AATech, a Milan-listed B-corp and a tech builder, said it acquired 57.71% of Gruppo Business Innovation Lab the owner of fintech platform Opyn for which it signed an option for purchasing the whole business (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The deal is worth in the region of 20.18 million euros. AATech will pay in cash and with shares and warrants of new issuance. Novac, an Italian developer of new-generation supercapacitors for environmentally sustainable storage systems that store and release energy quickly and immediately, secured a 3.5 million euros seed round that Eureka! Venture, CDP Venture Capital – Fondo Acceleratori, and CDP Venture Capital – Galaxia subscribed (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Matteo Bertocchi, Loris Bruzzi, Alessandro Fabbri, and Aldo Girimonte founded Novac in 2020 as a spin-off of Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia’s programme TACC (Training for Automotive Companies Creations). Cassandra.app, an AI platform for improving the performance of the media mix and increase the ROI of advertising, attracted 2 million euros from Italian Founders Fund, PitchDrive, Webranking, Mana Ventures, Lorenzo Lato, and Marco di Pietro (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Gabriele Franco and Cristian Nozzi founded Cassandra.app in 2023. The company is a Meta partner for Marketing Mix Modelling and will invest the raised proceeds in its international expansion and in the integration of Google Meridian technology in the next three months.. Compri, a startup for the B2B AI-based e-procurement, attracted 1.6 million euros from Italian Founders Fund (IFF) and DFF Ventures (Dutch Founders Fund) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Koinos Capital manages IFF, a vehicle that Giacinto Carullo, Lorenzo Franzi, Gianluca Cocco, Enrico Giacomelli, Luca Rodella, Marco Giovanni Piuri, FNM Group, Irene Mingozzi, and Carl Tremblay created in 2024. Edoardo Arbizzi and Edoardo Gava are the founders of compri that will invest the raised proceeds in its organic development and proprietary technology. HypeSound, an Italian startup agri-foodtech and biotech, attracted pre-seed resources of 1.2 million euros from Eatable Adventures, CDP Venture Capital, Nextup, Vento Ventures, Athena FH, and Ulixes Capital (see here a previous post by BeBeez). HypeSound and the investors received assistance from Foundasy, an advisory firm that Stefano Pardini created, and Giovannella Condò – Milano Notai. Matteo Crucito (ceo), Pietro Labruzzo (cto) and Giorgio Labruzzo (coo) founded HypeSound in 2019. The company will invest such resources in its proprietary technology, in accelerating the opening of a new lab in Perugia and in hiring a Senior Scientist – R&D Manager, a junior Biotechnologist, a Junior Mechanical Engineer and an Admin Specialist. As BeBeez reported in late 2024, Vertis raised 10 million euros for VV7-Vertis Venture 7 Digital Puglia and received the support of Equity Puglia (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The find aims to support Apulia’s startups and innovative SMEs while co-investing with 50% partner VV6-Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud whose resources amount 47.5 million ahead of a 70 million target. Andrea Vernaleone is the vice-coo of Puglia Sviluppo. Giacomo Giurazza is a partner of Vertis and part of VV6 and VV7 investment teams which also belong Renato Vannucci, Marco De Palma, Nicola Cimmino, and Fabiana Martone.
