Cerebriu has secured €17.4 million in Series A funding led by North Ventures, with ongoing support from EIFO and Sagitta Ventures. The investment will help Cerebriu scale its AI-powered MRI solution, Apollo, which improves MRI workflows by optimizing scan times and easing the burden on radiology departments. With this funding, the company plans to expand its product offerings and accelerate its global reach, aiming to address the rising demand for MRI exams amidst staffing shortages in healthcare systems worldwide.

Cerebriu, founded in 2018 in Copenhagen, specializes in AI-driven solutions to enhance MRI accessibility and efficiency. Its flagship product, Apollo, is the first CE-marked real-time MRI triage and automated protocol optimization tool designed for brain scans. By personalizing MRI protocols based on real-time data, Apollo improves workflow efficiency and reduces patient recall rates. The company has established partnerships with leading MRI manufacturer Siemens Healthineers and hospitals in Europe, Asia, and the USA, aiming to address challenges such as staffing shortages and increasing demand for MRI exams in healthcare.

“We believe in Cerebriu’s mission to address the critical challenges facing the healthcare industry” commented Mikkel Rørvig, Partner in North Ventures. “Their AI-powered solutions are poised to play a crucial role in improving radiology workflows and enhancing the overall quality of care in healthcare systems worldwide. We’re proud to support their growth.” As the global demand for MRI exams continues to rise, radiology departments are struggling to maintain the current volume of imaging exams daily while experiencing staffing shortages all over the world. The need for innovative workflow solutions supported by AI and automation to ease the burden on the radiology department staff is crucial.

“We are proud to support Cerebriu at this pivotal stage in their growth” commented Claudia Maria Colciago, Senior Investment Manager at EIFO. “Their innovative technology holds the potential to significantly transform medical imaging by making it faster, more accessible, and more precise for both patients and healthcare providers around the world. We are excited to help propel their expansion and amplify the value they deliver to their customers globally.” Cerebriu’s AI-powered solutions are poised to play a crucial role in improving radiology workflows, reducing patient wait times, and enhancing the overall quality of care in healthcare systems worldwide.

Cerebriu’s flagship product, Apollo, has already demonstrated significant improvements in the Brain MRI workflow efficiency. By personalizing MRI protocols based on real-time findings, Cerebriu’s AI solution acts as a clinical companion for MRI technologists, optimizing scan times and reducing unnecessary patient recalls.

Robert Lauritzen, CEO of Cerebriu, states, “We are thrilled to announce closing our Series A Round, which will enable us to further deploy our Software Suite Apollo to address the growing gap between the need for MRI exams and the foreseen shortage of radiologists and radiographers. With the support of our investors, we can continue to innovate and develop Cerebriu’s AI product line to improve MRI accessibility worldwide.”
