Italian venture capital fund LIFTT joined the 26 million US Dollars (24.3 million euros) round of Evergreen Theragnostics, an US oncology scaleup that also attracted the resources of Petrichor Partners, Club degli Investitori and other investors (see here a previous post by BeBeez). James Cook is the ceo of Evergreen Theragnostics which is based in New Jersey and will invest the raised proceeds in expanding its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) unit.
Cryptosmart, a fintech platform for trading cryptocurrencies born in 2021, closed the first tranche of a capital increase worth a total of 3.5 million euros and acquired IBX AG, a Lichtenstein-based mining firm (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Alessandro Ronchi, Claudio Baldassarri and Alessandro Frizzoni are the founders of Cryptosmart.
Cosmico, an Italian platform that liases professionals of the digital sector with clients, raised 4 million euros for consolidating its organic growth (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company attracted the resources of lead investor PranaVentures, Roberto Marsella, Fabio Troiani, 40Jemz, and Intesa Sanpaolo. Cosmico received assistance from Growth Capital and Portolano Cavallo. Cosmico will also invest the proceeds in its international growth.
Vittorio Terzi, a former McKinsey managing director for the Mediterranean Complex and currently ceo of Terzi & Partners, invested 0.15 million euros for acquiring 8% of Haizum Strategic Government Affairs, a startup for advocacy, lobbying and public affairs that Simone Crolla founded in 2022 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Crolla (52%), Nicolò Cremona (11.4%), Angel Capital Management (20% – a vehicle of Angelo Moratti), and Toni Spezzapria (5%) are further owners of Haizum.
CDP Venture Capital launched Frontech, an acceleration programme for AI, web 3.0 and metaverse with resources of 7 million euros (5.6 million from Fondo Acceleratori CDP Venture Capital) (see here a previous post by BeBeez) Gellify and Cariplo Factory poured 1.4 million in the programme and will manage it. Fondazione Sardegna and its innovation hub Innois will act as institutional partners while Algorand and Microsoft will provide technical support. Frontech also launched a call for selecting ten startups ending on 19 May, Sunday. The successful applicants will receive investment tickets of 0.12 million and a 6 months acceleration support. The programme will reward ten seed and early stage companies every year for three years. Agostino Scornajenchi is the ceo and coo of CDP Venture Capital.
The acceleration and incubation programme of Fastweb and UK’s Founders Factory born in 2023 invested in Gridshare, a crowdfunding platform for raising the development resources for photovoltaic plants (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Giovanni Maria Antignani (ceo) and Riccardo Santoro (coo) are the founders of Gridshare which also launched a crowdfunding campaing on CrowdFundMe for developing the plant Parco Solare di Ceprano through equity resources of 0.72 million.
