Amsterdam-based Hiber, an IoT space tech startup, announced that it has acquired Srett Industrie, a Paris-based IoT LoRaWAN-enabled hardware manufacturer specialising in LoRaWAN-enabled devices for ATEX environments.
This acquisition strengthens Hiber’s R&D and manufacturing capacities, enhancing its HiberHilo operations worldwide. The move aims to accelerate innovation in well integrity & monitoring technology for remote locations.
Remote IoT solutions that provide actionable insights
Founded in 2016, Hiber addresses the longstanding challenge of remote monitoring in the energy sector with its innovative solution, HiberHilo. By providing visibility to remote wells and pipelines, Hiber enhances safety for people, communities, and the environment.
HiberHilo offers an accessible IoT solution that is easy to purchase, install, and utilise. This technology empowers oil and gas companies to monitor critical aspects of their remote operations worldwide.
The company’s solutions include HiberHilo, designed for monitoring oil and gas wells, and HiberEasypulse, which facilitates asset tracking and fleet monitoring across sectors such as transport, mining, construction, agriculture, and forestry.
With operations spanning five continents, Hiber serves major national and international energy companies, providing them with comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
Aim of the acquisition
With the deal, Hiber, bolstered by its HiberHilo solutions, now offers a comprehensive suite of end-to-end IoT solutions. This includes hardware tailored for ATEX environments, LoRaWAN technology integrated with advanced satellite, 3G/4G, or LAN connectivity options, and data.
The solutions provide 24/7 remote asset monitoring (pressure, temperature, flow), and remote valve actuation. Hiber & Srett Industrie already serve 8 of the 10 Global Oil & Gas and Hydrogen majors in all continents.
Erik Boertje, MD of Hiber, says, “This is a significant moment for Hiber. This acquisition is an important step forward, and together, we look forward to accelerating to deliver sustainable and safe IoT solutions for the energy industry.”
Philippe Gambier, GM of Srett Industrie adds, “Having worked closely with Hiber over the past years, I am confident that together we will better support the energy industry, and minimise its carbon footprint and HSE exposure while improving operation efficiencies.”
Following the deal, Srett Industrie will operate under the brand name, Hiber.
