Just 1 year after the opening of its first multidisciplinary health clinic, female health startup Sorella has closed a €5 million seed round to help improve female health in France and beyond. The funding round was led by blisce/, Vorwerk Ventures joined the round. blisce/, is a certified B Corp impact investment firm for which investment goes hand in hand with social and environmental responsibility. Vorwerk Ventures is a Berlin-based, independent VC, focusing on the future of health, as well as, food and climate, with a track record in investing in hybrid health.

Sorella will use the fresh funding to further strengthen its coordinated care offering, enhance its digital platform and expand its network of multidisciplinary health clinics for women to significantly accelerate its development in France. 3 new clinics will open in 2024 to reach a dozen across France by 2026.

Founded in 2022 by Clémence Lejeune, Jeanne Theuret, and Youssef Benhaddou, Sorella is a network of multidisciplinary health spaces dedicated to women. It allows every woman to have access to a comprehensive care pathway, provided by healthcare professionals specializing in women’s health, regardless of their age, from puberty to post-menopause.

The French health tech is a unique hybrid healthcare offering with a network of multidisciplinary health clinics, giving every woman access to a comprehensive care pathway, provided by professionals specialised in women’s health, whatever their age, from puberty to post-menopause.

Sorella’s hybrid care system integrates the performance of new technological solutions to simplify the workflow for healthcare professionals and improve the healthcare pathway. These digital solutions also facilitate information sharing to patients, prevention and health screenings that are key to improving women’s health. In a Sorella clinic, up to 10,000 patients can be welcomed each year.

“This fundraising round opens a new chapter that will accelerate the development of Sorella in France – and beyond, our capacity for innovation in healthcare pathways and prevention. It is a strong mark of confidence in our model and proof that our fight for the improvement of women’s health is very relevant today. The healthcare professionals who support us are also convinced of this,” said Clémence Lejeune, co-founder of Sorella.

Today, 32% of women in France report feeling anxious about managing their health (compared to 20% of men). Women not only need to have access to comprehensive healthcare, but they are also entitled to demand that their specific physical and physiological needs be taken into account.

“Today, 60% of women are dropping out from their healthcare journey in France. This is a major public health challenge. We are convinced that the pluridisciplinary approach and the hybrid model that allies physical and digital will enable Sorella to reinvent women’s health with a significant and wide impact. We are excited to support the co-founders and their team in the construction of tomorrow’s way of practicing medicine,” added Alexandre Mars, Founder and CEO of blisce/.

Sorella places the patient at the heart of their health journey. They are welcome in a convivial and safe environment where a very strong care coordination among professionals is in place with multidisciplinary meetings (a practice imported from the hospital) and the establishment of a key player within the teams, the care coordinator.

“As long-time advocates in the female healthcare space we couldn’t be more excited to back the outstanding Sorella team and their mission to build the next generation of female healthcare”, commented Katharina Neuhaus, Principal at Vorwerk Ventures. “With its hybrid model, Sorella paves the way for a more holistic and transformative healthcare paradigm for women, recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being”.

Sorella’s digital platform ensures a smoother patient management system, better internal guidance, and post-consultation follow-up. This way, Sorella also empowers healthcare professionals’ efficiency and their full dedication to the patient as they are completely relieved of the administrative constraints: 100% turnkey offer, no fixed costs, no administrative burden, agility in practice and much less mental stress.
