Between 2016 and 2021, the startups and scaleups based in Italy or with Italian founders but headquartered abroad raised 5.1 billion euros (2.9 billion Italy-based company and 2.2 billion foreign firms) said BeBeez Venture Capital Report for P101 (see here the press release and previous reports) (See here a previous post by BeBeez). The report also points out that in 2021, the startups and scale ups attracted 2.9 billion in 534 transactions split in 341 venture capital rounds, 171 equity crowdfunding campaigns and 23 rounds raised by investment vehicles (see here Report Venture Capital 2021 BeBeez and Report Venture Capital 1Q22 BeBeez available to the subscribers to BeBeez News Premium and BeBeez Private Data).  The data of CrowdfundingBuzz (a publication of EdiBeez srl, the publisher of BeBeez) say that in 2021, equity crowdfunding portals raised 171.9 million (103 million in 2020 and 65 million in 2019)
Home-fitness startup Buddyfit attracted more than 10 million euros from Azimut Digitech Fund, which has Gellify as advisor; Cairo Communication and RCS MediaGroup; soccer players Andrea Pirlo, Massimiliano Allegri, Leonardo Bonucci, Marco Verratti, show girl Federica Nargi, and other investors (see here a previous post by BeBeez). In February 2021 the company had raised 5 millions from international business angels and also through an equity crowdfunding on BacktoWork. Previously thew company had  where it attracted 0.6 million and 1.7 million in previous rounds. Giovanni Ciferri, Stefano Manzoni and Stefano Cortese founded the company in 2019 and in 2020 appointed investors Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diletta Leotta as Global Ambassador & Partner. Buddyfit will invest the raised proceeds in its international expansion and organic development.
Glickon, an Italian publisher of HR tech software, attracted 3 million euros from Sinergia Venture Fund, a vehicle of Synergo Capital sgr (see here a previous post by BeBeez). BonelliErede and Spada Partners assisted Synergo. Orrick acted as legal adviser to Glickon that through previous rounds raised a total of 2.4 million from private investors, MCapital and Embed Capital. Filippo Negri (ceo) and Matteo Corte (cfo) founded the company in 2014. Glickon will invest the raised proceeds in its domestic and international expansion and the implementation of AI and big data technology.
Reiwa Engine, an industrial automation startup, attracted 2 million euros from Cysero Euveca, a venture capital fund with a focus on robotics and cyber security that AVM Gestioni sgr and Kilometro Rosso launched in joint venture (See here a previous post by BeBeez). The investors signed an option for investing a further million. Salvo Salerno (ceo) and Salvatore Occhipinti founded Reiwa in 2019. The company will invest the raised proceeds in its organic development.
