Alokino Gelato, a Los Angeles-based producer of vegan ice creams, attracted pre-seed resources for 500k euros from Key Capital, an Italian investment company, and other business angels (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Alokino could extend the fundraising and launch a series A round by the end of 2020, shareholder Federico Parma and co-founder Michele Bartyan said to BeBeez. Riccardo Pozzoli is the other founder of Alokino.
ClubDealOnline, an equity crowfunding platform for HNWI, launched My PIR online, an online tool that will allow sophisticated investors to pour resources through ClubDealFiduciaria in investment funds that support the real economy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The equity crowdfunding platform had launched ClubDealFiduciaria in December 2020 with the support of Almaviva, an Italian company for the digital transformation, and Legance, an Italian law firm. Cristiano Busnardo is the ceo of CDOL and chairman of ClubDealFiduciaria. Roberto Ferrari is the chairman of CDOL, a company that Antonio Chiarello founded.
French biotech Pep-Therapy raised 2.75 million euros through an equity crowdfunding campaign on Italian platform Doorway and from Bernard Majoie (chairman and ceo of Laboratoires Fournier), IAG (Italian Angels for Growth), BADGE (Business Angels des Grandes Ecoles), Magna Capital Partner and Seventure Partners (See here a previous post by BeBeez). Michele Marzola, part of IAG, is the champion investor and will join the board of Pep. Alessandro Toniolo will act as co-champion.
Italian proptech Homepal raised more than 2.5 million euros through an equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd that started in mid-February with a target of one million later increased to 2.75 million on the ground of a pre-money value of 19.8 million (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The campaign will end on 30 April. Homepal raised one million in 2015 from Davide Serra and other business angels, 2.6 million in April 2017 and 2.3 million in September 2018 from a club deal that Maria Ameli launched with Bper. Homepal also attracted the resources of Daniele Ferrero, Roberto Piroddi, H-57, and Boost Heroes. Andrea Lacalamita, Fabio Marra, Monica Regazzi founded Homepal in 2014 together with other managers. In 2020, Homepal generated sales of 2 million.
Milan-listed Digital Magics acquired The Doers, an Italian corporate innovation player (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Digital Magics will launch a capital increase that Doers’s shareholders will subscribe through the swap of all their shares. Irene Cassarino, Cosimo Panetta and Enrico Cattaneo founded the target in 2012. The Doers has sales of 0.661 million euros, an ebitda of 21,500 euros, net profits of 8,600 euros, and equity of 0.379 million.
Italian legaltech LexDo.it received a 400k euros incentive from the Smart & Start Italia programme of Invitalia (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Giovanni Toffoletto founded LexDo.it in 2015 and since then raised 1.4 million.
Cdp Venture Capital – Fondo Nazionale Innovazione (CDP) invested in Weart, Wahu and Existo, three portfolio companies of e-Novia (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The investments are part of the CDP’s programme AccelerOra! for seed and pre-seed deals. Giovanni Spagnoletti and Guido Gioioso founded Weart in 2018 and received 0.505 million euros from e-Novia in two rounds. The company develops wearable and portable products for touch digitalization. WAHU (0.211 million from e-Novia), whose founder is Patrizia Casali, manufactures shoes that can adapt its sole morphology to the changes happening both in the external environment and in the dynamic state of the user to create a posture-driven traction control during walking. In 2019, Fanny Boria founded Existo (0.37 million from e-Novia in December 2019) which provides innovative solutions for a smarter living, combining wearable light technologies with digital services.
Red Circle Investments (RCI), the investment vehicle of Renzo Rosso, invested in Planet Farms, an Italian vertical farm (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Planet Farms’ founders are Luca Travaglini and Daniele Benatoff.
AssoFintech, the Italian association of fintech and insurtech firms that is also a partner of BeBeez, signed a two-years partnership with Confindustria Assoimmobiliare, the Italian association of real estate investors, for creating opportunities in the digital economy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The associations will support the sectors of proptech, fintech and insurtech for creating an open innovation ecosystem and networking opportunities.
MarketWall, an Italian fintech company of which Intesa SanPaolo has 33% since 2015, launched InvestoPro sim, a digital investment management company (See here a previous post by BeBeez). Massimo Tessitore and Marco Roscio Ricon are the chairman and ceo of InvestoPro sim who received the authorization to operate from Consob. The company also launched InvestoPro.com, a digital platform for online trading that provides contents with the support of artificial intelligence. Further shareholders of MarketWall are Roscio Ricon (ceo) and Toronto-listed AnalytixInsight.
Enrico Pandian and Bocconi University Professor Leonardo Etro joined the board of the Italian crowdfunding portal CrowdFundMe (See here a previous post by BeBeez). CrowdFundMe’s directors are Tommaso Baldissera Pacchetti (chairman), Benedetto Pirro, Edoardo Varacca Capello, Pandian, and Etro. In 2020, Consob, the Italian stock market authority, authorized CrowdFundMe to place minibond.
