Italian angel investors and venture capital firms were not quite active in the week ending yesterday. However they enjoy the taste of Italian housemade meals.
Le Cesarine, an Italian platform for selling housmade Italian foos, raised one million of euros from sector entrepreneurs and managers (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The investors list includes Daniele Ferrero, ceo of Italian chocolate maker Venchi; Niccolò Branca, ceo and chairman of Italian spirits producer Branca, Emmanuel Osti, former managing director of cosmetic retailer L’Occitaine, Marco Airoldi, former ceo of Benetton group. Davide Maggi and Massimiliano Benedetti founded the company in 2016 after having acquired the brand Le Cesarine, which grouped a network of 500 housewives living in 90 Italian cities that prepared meals for several tourists. The company will invest such proceeds in expanding the business abroad and growing the network of housewives and clients.
