Carlyle is studying the acquisition of Italy’s fashion brand Giambattista Valli, MF Fashion writes today adding that the US private equity firm is said to be willing to buy not only the fashion maison but its sole licensee too, that is Mario Bandiera’s Bvm who is also the owner of the Les Copains brand. Funds managed by Clessidra and Permira are also said to be looking at the Gianbattista Valli dossier.
Valuations about a price tag for the deal are now being assesed. Bvm reached 40-45 million euros in revenues.
Carlyle is quite used to investments in the Italian fashion sector after deals on Moncler, Twin set and Golden Goose.
