Italy’s venture capital firm Innogest Capital sgr join a 34.5 million euro investment round for Spanish medtech company MedLumics, cardiac device company specializing in optically guided minimally invasive instruments (see here the press release).This is the biggest deal ever in this sector in Spain.
The investment round was led by Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners, joined by Innogest, Seroba Life Sciences and a strategic investor, also joined by existing shareholders Ysios Capital Partners and Caixa Capital Risc. Following the deal, EdR’s partner Olivier Litzka, Innogest’s partner Claudio Rumazza and Seroba’s partner James Green will become members of MedLumics board of directors.
The new cash will be used to help advance the product and clinical development of the company’s AblaView catheter, intended for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias.
