Italy’s club deal online platform SiamoSoci launched a one million dollars fundraising for bringing Italy’s business angels to invest in Mission and Market Fund I, an investment veichle focused on US startup companies incubated by Y Combinator, one of the leading business accelerators in the US.
Headquartered in San Francisco (California), Mission and Market Fund has been founded in 2014 by three young serial Italian startuppers (Stefano Bernardi, Simone Brunozzi and Francesco Simoneschi) and is able to coinvest together with some of the major US venture capital funds such as Google Ventures, 500 Startups, Microsoft Ventures and Novartis’s corporate venture.
This is possible as Mission and Market fund signed an agreement with Y Combinator in order to invest 25k dollars in each of its portfolio companies. In this way the fund’s portfolio counts 33 investments already.
SiamoSoci will raise money from Italian investors through a newco called American Startup Club spa, which will act as a unique investor in a way to have access to Mission and Market Fund I at the same conditions allowed to institutional investors.
