Deadline for second expression of interest from potential buyers of Nuova Cassa di risparmio di Ferrara, Nuova Banca delle Marche, Nuova Banca dell’Etruria e del Lazio and Nuova Cassa di risparmio di Chieti expires today. The first expression of interest for the four mid-size “good banks” chaired by Roberto Nicastro, which were split last November from bad banks after a rescue by the Italian Government had been delivered last January 25th on the desk of financial advisor Société Générale (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
This phase will be followed by a first selection among potential bidders who will receive an information memorandum and will be asked to put forward non-binding offers by the end of March. The final closing of the whole process is expected to be announced before next Summer.
Expressions of interest have been put forward both by financial intermediaris and by private equity firms (click here to download the BeBeez report about all private equity deals in the financial sector in italy, only Italian version).
