On 26 October, Monday, Anthropic, the developer of AI system Claude that siblings Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei founded, received financing facility of 63 billion US Dollars from Bank of America, Blackstone, Citi, and Morgan Stanley in support of the leasing of Broadcom ‘s AI accelerators and networking solutions (press release and Reuters). Blackstone received assistance from Kirkland & Ellis while Latham & Watkins advised BofA, Citi and Morgan Stanley. Broadcom appointed Sullivan & Cromwell and Evercore.
On 26 October, Anthropic also filed with SEC the prospectus for its Nasdaq Global Select Market IPO of mid-November 2026 on the ground of an enterprise value of 1.5 – 2 trillion US Dollars (press release, SEC file and see here a previous post by BeBeez). Between February and May 2026, Anthropic secured a Series G round of 30 billion US Dollars and a Series H of 65 billion with a post-money value of 965 billion US Dollars (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
Reuters quoted sources close to the deal as saying that the senior debt amounts to 43.5 billion US Dollars, 69% of the total funding.
Jon Gray, the President & Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone, said: “The rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence is creating a huge opportunity to fund large-scale computing capabilities. We are proud to be contributing to this expansion alongside Broadcom.”
Hock Tan, Broadcom chairman and ceo, pointed out that the transaction proves that capital is available to fund the growth of AI infrastructure and, in his view, confirms the group’s technology’s central role.
On 26 October, SpaceX signed with Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, KKR, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management (sole structuring agent) for a finance lease worth approximately 40 billion US Dollars in support of the purchase of Nvidia’s new-generation Vera Rubin GPUs and related equipment for the expansion of the group’s on-ground computing infrastructure (press release and Reuters). In February 2026, SpaceX announced its integration with xAI, the developer of Grok, and created a company with an enterprise value of 1.250 billion US Dollars (see here a previous post by BeBeez). SpaceX listed on Nasdaq in June 2026 and fetched 85.7 billion US Dollars through the so far largest IPO in history, with Elon Musk retaining over 75% of the voting rights (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
Reuters said that the leasing facilities will have an above five-years tenure and the closing may take place by the end of 2026.
Bret Johnsen, chief financial officer of SpaceX, said: “We aim to build the world’s largest computing infrastructure. As demand continues to grow rapidly, we are seeing payback periods of less than a year for our super-intelligence infrastructure”.
Meanwhile, major private equity funds are expanding their exposure to the AI sector, including through investments and operational partnerships. In May, Anthropic and OpenAI announced the establishment of two separate, independent companies dedicated to AI services for businesses, both built around the same rationale: raising capital from major private equity funds to accelerate the adoption of AI within their portfolio assets and then scaling up into the wider market of mid-caps (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
We look forward to seeing you for the Caffé di BeBeez on 9 November, Monday, at 10:30 AM
in Milan at Park Hyatt Hotel.
Top tier professionals will discuss the role of proprietary data, AI and intelligence in reshaping the competitive advantage for private capital and M&A
A journey through the entire economic intelligence value chain, to discover which data, tools and AI applications are already changing the way we invest, carry out M&A and create value in portfolio companies. It will be an opportunity to see, in a single morning, how the new private equity decision-making framework is being built, piece by piece. Artificial intelligence is changing the rules of the game on two fronts: in portfolio companies, where it can accelerate growth, productivity and value creation, and within the funds themselves, where it is transforming the way investment opportunities are identified, due diligence is conducted and the portfolio is monitored. OpenAI and Anthropic are developing new enterprise AI platforms in partnership with some of the world’s leading private equity firms. The London Stock Exchange explained the business rationale behind its acquisition of Octus emphasising the idea that the competitive advantage that proprietary data provide increases in value through artificial intelligence. Where this competitive advantage really comes from? Who has the best data? Who knows how to turn it into strategic insights and operational decisions? Which applications are already delivering tangible results? We will discuss this with the builders of this new infrastructure — from proprietary data to intelligence platforms, from AI models to intelligent agents — and with the funds that are using it to invest more effectively and grow their portfolio companies. A discussion aimed at understanding not only what is changing today, but above all who will be able to create the most value tomorrow.
