Global Switch has been selected to host a large cluster of Nvidia Blackwell hardware at its data center in Paris, France.

The cluster will be mostly liquid-cooled and will be deployed within Global Switch’s Nvidia DGX-ready data center in the city.

The scale of the cluster has not been specified beyond Global Switch noting it will be “one of the biggest Nvidia Blackwell deployments in Europe.”

The company has not stated the identity of the end user for the cluster.

Nicolas Duhamel, president at Global Switch France, said: “AI and high-performance compute customers require significant power, advanced cooling optionality and dense, resilient connectivity. This deployment demonstrates the strength of Global Switch as a platform for the next generation of AI businesses, powering the digital economies of the future.

“It also underlines the role that established, highly connected data centers can play in accelerating AI innovation at scale and in supporting France’s sovereign AI ambitions.”

Global Switch’s Paris campus is 100 percent powered by renewable energy, and is set to participate in a heat-offtake agreement to provide waste heat to the city of Levallois-Perret, beginning in 2027, and to be replicated in the city of Clichy.

A data center at the site suffered a fire in 2023, caused by a cooling system water pump failure, in which water leaked into the battery room.

Google is a known customer of the Global Switch Paris campus.
