BNP Paribas BNL Equity Investments (BBEI) purchased a minority of Italian scaleup hlpy which raised 20 million euros in equity and debt and acquired Italian Carvoilà (see here a previous post by BeBeez). After such a deal, hlpy raised 45 million since Valerio Chiaronzi (ceo), Graziano Cavallo (managing director), Enrico Noseda (advisor), and Stefano Sarti (managing director International) founded it in 2020. The company previously attracted the resources of Nextalia, Alkemia Capital, The Techshop, CDP Venture Capital and Simest. Francesca Vidali and Michela Conti founded Carvoilà in 2018. Gamindo, a startup that Nicolò Santin and Matteo Albrizio founded in 2019, secured a seed round seed of 1.4 million euros for its proprietary technology and organic growth (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company attracted the resources of Club degli Investitori, Vento, Doorway, Zanichelli Venture, Nova Venture, LM Holding, Luca Ferrari, Matteo Danieli, Francesco Patarnello, Luca Querella, Luca Maestri, Riccardo Zacconi, Claudio Erba, Alessio Artuffo, Giuseppe Tomasello, and Duccio Vitali. In 2021, Gamindo attracted 0.5 million from Luiss Alumni 4 Growth, Wellness Holding, Moffu Labs, Andrea Rota, Simone Cimminelli, and Matteo Fabbrini. Gian Piero Pepino and Federico Mussetto are part of Club degli Investitori. Enrico Poli is a director of Zanichelli Venture.
Vertis launched Vertis Venture 8 Lazio (VV8), a vehicle with resources of 30 million euros ahead of a 50 million target that will support the Latium’s startups and innovative SMEs (see here a previous post by BeBeez). VV8 also attracted a 23 million commitment from of Lazio Innova, 10 million from Fondo pensione Perseo Sirio which received assistance from Prometeia. VV8 will invest tickets of 0.5 – 5 million in seed and stage-growth deals in the sectors of artificial intelligence, software, space, aerospace, cyber security, fintech, smart manufacturing, technologies for the environmental transition, proptech, edtech, and agri-foodtech. Amedeo Giurazza is the ceo of Vertis and VV8. Virginia Filippi is a director, Alessandro Pontari acts as investment director, Alessandro Papoff as investment manager, and Chiara Morsa as senior investment analyst. Open Advisory will support VV8 as technical advisor. Roberta Angelilli is the Lazio Region Councillor for Economic Development. Andrea Ciampalini is the coo of Lazio Innova. Eureka! Fund II – Deep Tech Lazio raised 20 million euros closing Eureka! Venture from anchor investor Lazio Innova (16 million) and others (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The vehicle will target startups and innovative SMEs of Latium region and to establish professional venture capital managers in the area with a focus on deep tech, hard tech, technology transfer, and STEP technologies. Roberta Angelilli is the Vice-President of the Lazio Region and Councillor for Economic Development, Trade, Crafts, Industry and Internationalisation. Andrea Ciampalini is the coo of Lazio Innova.
