The Global Deep Tech Showcase Awards has selected 40 finalists across eight categories, bringing together startups, research spin-offs and teams working on technologies spanning quantum computing, AI infrastructure, robotics, energy, biotechnology and space.

Hosted by NORDEEP on September 16–17 in Espoo, Finland, the competition focuses on businesses emerging from scientific research and advanced engineering. The awards recognise companies based on the strength of their underlying technology, market potential and plans for international scaling.

The shortlisted companies are competing across six technology-focused categories and two Research-to-Business (R2B) categories. The technology categories cover Security, Resilience, Sovereign Capability & Dual-Use; Quantum, Future Computing & Deep Data Systems; Chips, Photonics & AI Infrastructure; Energy, Advanced Materials & Circular Industry; Life Sciences, Engineered Biology & Health; and Physical AI & Robotics.

The Security, Resilience, Sovereign Capability & Dual-Use category includes Aani – Audio Intelligence, Aquatica, Audicin, EdSSA and EXALOCUS. The Quantum, Future Computing & Deep Data Systems shortlist features Aveksana, evaluoi.ai, Insight Questor and Odd Latent.

In Chips, Photonics & AI Infrastructure, the finalists are BenarioXR, Lime Boost, LuminaPath, Myvox and nigeQ AI & Ethics. The Energy, Advanced Materials & Circular Industry category includes EOLIC, Mineralytics, NOETON, NPHarvest, Spectromarine and Untuvia.

The Life Sciences, Engineered Biology & Health category brings together Innofend, LifeGlue Technologies, Medlyse, Ossify Health and VitalSigns, while the Physical AI & Robotics category includes Link Robotics, Sensible 4, Thistle OÜ and Twinverse.

The two R2B categories highlight technologies moving from research toward commercialisation and scale. Group A includes Atapley Europe, the DOPAGuard R2B project at the University of Helsinki, Dora Health, MultivisionDx, Raw Edge and Spermotile. Group B features Gscan, Leida Tech, ScanwAi, SemantiSys and snowLEX.

The awards are designed around the commercialisation of deep technology, with the competition highlighting the importance of addressing a meaningful problem, having defensible technology and establishing a credible route to adoption. The organisers say the awards are intended to connect promising deep-tech companies with investors, industry partners and potential customers.

Category winners are set to be announced across all eight categories, with the awards covering the full range of technologies represented in this year’s shortlist.
