Sources said to BeBeez that Italian foodtech Foorban attracted 7.2 million euros from IMPACT Partners, an European investors with resources of 500 million which subscribed 70% of the target’s capital increase (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company will invest such proceeds in its European expansion. IMPACT Partners retained PedersoliGattai, BDO, ILV Silver, and AON. Legance advised Foorban, a business that Stefano Cavaleri, Marco Mottolese (ceo) and Riccardo Pozzoli founded in 2016. The company previously secured 2 million from a pool of family offices and 2.65 million from other investors.
Cato AI, a platform for handling calls for tenders that Andrea Zorzetto and Matteo Bossolini created, attracted 6 million euros from Dutch Keen Venture Partners (lead investor), Italian Founders Fund – Koinos Capital, Heartfelt, Vento, B Heroes, Moonstone Venture Capital, Alecla7, Nova, and several business angels and founders of Italian startups (see here a previous post by BeBeez). In April 2026, Cato AI secured a pre-seed round of 1.6 million.
Holifya, an Italian digital clinic for Pharmacological treatment of obesity and metabolic syndrome with the support of artificial intelligence and advanced diagnostics, attracted 2 million euros (1.6 million in equity and 0.4 million in debt and grant) from Next Age – CDP Venture Capital, AC75 Startup Accelerator (lead investor), Growth Engine, Doorway, 20Fund, Serra Elizabeth Falke, Zooga VC, Micol Fornaroli, Pier Francesco Rimbotti, Tommaso Gamaleri, Duccio Vitali, and Matteo Mainetti (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Growth Capital assisted Holifya which since its 2023 foundation raised more than 2.5 million from Growth Engine, Exor Ventures, B4iFund-Bocconi 4 Innovation, A-Road (the acceleration programme of Growth Capital), Elevator Program – Endeavor Italy, and other business angels. Alessandra Cestaro (ceo), Marco Brustia (cpo) and cso Elvira Pistolesi founded the company that later joined Luca Di Dio as co-founder. Stefano Molino is the head of CDP’s Fondo Acceleratori. Tech Europe Foundation (TEF) Berkeley Discovery, and Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS), part of University of California – Berkeley signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen the links between the Italian and US innovation ecosystems (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Milan-based TEF is the new no-profit firm born in 2024 with the support of Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Università Bocconi, ION, and FSI, a private equity that Maurizio Tamagnini created. At the heart of the agreement are joint research projects between UC Berkeley’s laboratories and Italian universities that TEF supports. At least half of these will have a joint leadership, following a model that brings together scientific research, technology transfer and business development. Ferruccio Resta is Tech Europe Foundation chairman. Alessandra Lanzara is a director of Berkeley Discovery – UC Berkeley. Massimo Carnelos is Italy’s Consul General in San Francisco, California.
