Green Mountain has signed on a neocloud customer at one of its UK data center campuses.
The company said the customer, which is unnamed, has taken on 14MW of capacity at the LON-East data center campus located in Romford, East London.
The data center is connected via major fiber routes to the City of London, London Docklands, and Slough, as well as international data center hubs.
Simon Blackburn, Green Mountain UK’s managing director, said: “This is an important milestone for Green Mountain Global and a strong endorsement of both our LON-East campus and our strategy for the UK market.
“Neocloud operators are at the forefront of the extraordinary growth we are seeing in AI infrastructure, and their requirements for power density, scalability, connectivity and speed to market are particularly demanding. Securing a 14MW customer at LON-East demonstrates that East London can provide the infrastructure needed to support the next generation of AI and cloud platforms. We are delighted to welcome this customer to the campus and look forward to supporting their future growth.”
Green Mountain acquired the freehold for its Romford campus earlier this year, which gives it long-term control and the ability to continue expanding. It took over the site when Green Mountain acquired Infinity SDC in a deal that closed in January 2023.
In total, the campus offers 37MW of capacity, with the 14MW taken up by the neocloud being recently delivered and is capable of supporting rack densities of more than 100kW with liquid cooling solutions.
Green Mountain began work on the 14MW expansion in December 2023, which covers six data halls. The campus is said to have the possibility for a further expansion of 16MW. According to the company’s website, the data center has 11,000 sqm (118,403 sq ft) in existing building space, and 5,546 sqm (59,696 sq ft) currently in construction.
