The startups include 12 from the US market and 16 from the European market. As part of the program, Google will provide direct assistance to help the companies scale their businesses. This will include dedicated technical mentorship from Google’s AI and energy experts, and access to Google digital tools and technologies.

The program launched in May of this year, will run from September through November, and is equity-free. The targeted companies include those in pre-seed and post-Series A funding with early commercial traction and a technology stack compatible with Google Cloud. The 2026 program is backed by more than 20 partners spanning energy utilities, grid operators, and venture capital firms across Europe and North America.

Google completed its first Google for Startups Accelerator: AI for Energy program last year.

The startups selected as part of the North American cohort include:

  • Anode: an AI-orchestrated virtual utility mobilizing microgrids on demand
  • Camus Energy: software that helps utilities connect data centers with local energy sources safely, reliably, and three to five years faster
  • Cosmic Robotics: autonomous construction equipment for solar farms and data centers
  • Dig Energy: a modular drilling technology that enables geothermal heating, cooling, and storage
  • Felix Fusion: an AI-powered platform that helps data centers, mining operations, and industrial projects find energy and connect to the power grid more easily and flexibly
  • Fram Energy: a revenue collection layer for local, independent energy projects
  • Grid Status: a modern data and market intelligence platform for the energy industry
  • Hestia Energy: a solution that finds and unlocks reservoirs of geologic hydrogen
  • Nyquis: a solution that cuts the time to power for data centers and large new loads
  • Optiwatt: an electric vehicle–first energy platform connecting vehicle brands with programs that help balance energy usage and demand across North America
  • Swish Solar: an operating system for the world’s solar infrastructure
  • Zola Intelligence: an AI-powered platform embedding automation and AI agents into finance and operational workflows alongside smart hardware for energy delivery

The startups selected as part of the European cohort include:

  • Capture Energy (United Kingdom): all-in-one software for battery storage that maximizes energy efficiency and revenue
  • Deepgrid (Sweden): an automated virtual power plant that coordinates flexible energy sources to help balance the Nordic electricity grid
  • EasySolar AI (Poland): automated design and lead-gen software helping solar installers quote entire neighborhoods and cut sales costs by 80 percent
  • EH Group (Switzerland): a system powering zero-emission aviation, maritime, and heavy transport
  • Elvy (Sweden): software that optimizes home energy usage by managing the flow of power between a home, the electricity grid, and local devices
  • Grid Edge (UK): technology that automatically manages building energy to reduce carbon emissions while keeping tenants comfortable
  • Hylight (France): hydrogen-powered autonomous airships that use AI to inspect power lines and pipelines in an eco-friendly way
  • Kyra (Switzerland): software that forecasts power grid capacity to help developers invest in energy projects with less risk
  • Mitiga Solutions (Spain): software that analyzes climate risks to help clean energy and power grid operators build more resilient systems
  • Nomadic (Germany): autonomous drones that recharge by perching on power lines and provide continuous, real-time grid inspection
  • Reblade ApS (Denmark): AI-guided maintenance drones that repair eroding wind turbine blades 10x faster than manual maintenance to maximize power output
  • RTDT Laboratories (Switzerland): technology that adjusts wind turbine performance based on site-specific conditions to maximize energy production
  • SMPNet (UK): software that optimizes networks in real-time, helping utilities increase grid capacity without building new hardware
  • Solship (Italy): an AI operating system that automates 24/7 energy trading across battery fleets
  • Werover (UK): a continuous acoustic monitoring system that listens for wind turbine blade damage to help operators prevent major failures
  • Zendo Energy (UK): software that optimizes data center energy usage to maximize computing performance
