Edge data center firm Etix is set to buy four French data centers from fiber firm Eurofiber.
The companies this week announced they are in exclusive negotiations around the sale of Eurofiber’s colocation activities in France, covering four data centers located in the Occitanie region in the south of the country.
The deal could be completed by June 2026. Terms have not been shared.
The deal would include three wholly owned facilities in Toulouse, Auch, and Nîmes, as well as a colocation unit in Labège – and four operational staff – adding to Etix’s existing French portfolio of 13 data centers and 15 globally. Full details of the facilities have not been shared.
Eurofiber said that while colocation remains an important component of Eurofiber’s overall strategy, the company said its French colocation business was not large enough to be structurally competitive on its own. Eurofiber will offer data center capacity through partnerships with Etix.
“Expanding from 15 to 19 data centers across all regions marks a decisive step in Etix’s commitment to providing truly nationwide coverage for our customers,” said Louis Blanchot, CEO of Etix. “But the real strategic significance of this acquisition lies in what it opens up for Toulouse. By adding the region’s main interconnection hub to our portfolio, we are now ideally positioned to serve one of France’s most dynamic Tier 2 markets—alongside Lille and Lyon, cities that are firmly establishing themselves as credible alternatives to Paris and Marseille.”
Founded in 2012, Etix Everywhere operates data centers in France, Belgium, and Thailand. It formerly ran hyperscale facilities, but sold these to Vantage in 2020 and is now focused on the Edge market. The company is owned by European private investment firm Eurazo and French investment firm Infranity.
Eurofiber operates a fiber optic network stretching from the Netherlands to Belgium, France, and Germany. In the Netherlands, Eurofiber continues to operate its own fleet of eight data centers. It acquired two in 2024 alongside the purchase of Bytesnet.
