On 20 April, Monday, Italian wine producer Zonin, a firm that belongs to the eponymous family and 21 Invest (36.1%), filed the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce with a receivership request (application available for the subscribers to BeBeez News Premium and BeBeez Private Data) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Domenico Zonin is the chairman of the company whose banking debt amounts to little above 73 million euros. Unicredit, Monte Paschi di Siena, Intesa Sanpaolo, VER Capital, and Banca CF+ provided different financing facilities with the partial warranty of SACE (see here Zonin 2024 financials available for the subscribers to BeBeez News Premium and BeBeez Private Data). Apollo Global Management acquired from the other bondholders the whole Lecta (a special paper company that CVC Capital Partners created out of the merger of Italy’s Cartiere del Garda and Polyedra with French Condat, Spanish Torraspapel) whose lenders converted the issuant liabilities in equity in 2019 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). On 10 April, Friday, Apollo completed a recapitalization of Lecta whose leverage amounts now to 400 million euros or a net leverage of below 3X ebitda. On 30 April, Thursday, ceo Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen retired while Javier Abad remained in charge. The company created three independent units ahead of a rebranding: Fine Paper and Distribution (Corrado Lignana ceo); Self-Adhesive (Ricard Balart ceo) and Specialties (Rubén Hernando interim ceo).
