AirHub, a Groningen-based drone operations software company, has secured €4.4 million in Series A funding to boost its growth as a leading European provider of software for executing drone missions in security, defence, public safety, and critical infrastructure.
The round was supported by Keen Venture Partners, Runway FBU, and existing investors Lumaux and LUMO Labs.
Thomas Brinkman, Co-CEO and co-founder of AirHub, said, “This funding helps us accelerate AirHub’s growth as a European software company serving organisations that operate in high-stakes environments. We see a clear need for trusted software that helps teams execute drone missions securely, effectively and at scale, while strengthening Europe’s ability to rely on its own technology in critical operations.”
Founded in 2017, AirHub is a Dutch company specialising in drone management software and robotic orchestration. It assists public safety agencies, security providers, and operators of critical infrastructure with secure and compliant drone operations, including planning and execution, fleet management, and real-time situational awareness.
According to the company, drones are rapidly becoming part of the operational backbone of security, defence and critical infrastructure. Already proven in modern warfare, policing, border protection and infrastructure security, they are driving a growing demand for software that enables missions to be planned, executed and coordinated securely, at scale and with full operational control.
AirHub states that in Europe, this demand is tied to sovereignty: organisations need trusted technology to support deployment and ensure control over data, workflows, and critical systems. As a European company, AirHub claims that it is building that capability, helping strengthen Europe’s independence, resilience and data sovereignty in mission-critical drone operations.
AirHub develops software that helps organisations plan, execute, and manage drone missions in complex operational environments. Its main product, the AirHub Drone Operations Centre, provides teams with a single platform to prepare missions, operate drones during incidents, monitor live video streams for command oversight, and handle workflows, compliance, and reporting. This approach allows drones to be integrated into daily operations rather than used as standalone tools.
In April 2024, the company announced it had raised €1 million from LUMO Labs and Lumaux for their Drone Operations Centre, a mobile software platform and online dashboard essential for managing drone fleets in security, critical infrastructure and emergency response operations.
“There is a clear and growing need for trusted, European-built solutions, and AirHub is well-positioned to meet that demand. The combination of strong technical development and proven use in high-stakes environments, both nationally and internationally, gives us confidence they will continue to set the standard for mission-critical drone operations across Europe and beyond,” said Andy Lürling, Founding Partner of LUMO Labs.
The company will use the fresh capital to grow its international team, enhance the AirHub Drone Operations Centre, and expand its portfolio with MilHub and SecHub. MilHub targets defence-related operational settings, while SecHub serves wider security operations and provides a counter-drone solution for organisations that need to detect, manage, and respond to drone threats.
The company is currently expanding its team, accelerating product development, and actively engaging with partners and operators across Europe and beyond.
AirHub’s software is utilised by organisations like Dubai Police, Portuguese Bombeiros, the Belgian Federal Police, Prosegur, Securitas, Dutch Customs, Shell, Boskalis, and ProRail. These teams employ AirHub for various applications, including Drone as First Responder, incident response, infrastructure inspection, security monitoring, and operational coordination.
