Turnaround investor Flacks Group, a firm of British businessman Michael Flacks, said that by 12 March, Thursday, it will complete the filing for tabling a binding offer for troubled Italian steel producer Acciaierie d’Italia – Ilva could gain momentum (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The Italian Ministry for Made in Italy (MIMIT) appointed Alessandro Danovi, Francesco di Ciommo, Daniela Savi, Giovanni Fiori, Giancarlo Quaranta, and Davide Tabarelli as extraordinary commissioners for the assets. Flacks aims to sign a partnership with industry peers Metinvest, Danieli and Marcegaglia and Invitalia that could buy 40% of Ilva with an option for Flacks to purchase the company for 0.5 – 1 billion euros by a yet undisclosed date.
Troubled Italian toys ditributor Giochi Preziosi filed an appeal and a receivership application with Milan Court with the support of legal advisor PedersoliGattai (part 1 and part 2 available on BeBeez News Premium and BeBeez Private Data) for its subsidiaries Giochi Preziosi Italia, Grandi Giochi in liquidation, Giocheria, Giochi Preziosi Store, GPH, and Startrade (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Riccardo Ranalli is the attester for the restructuring and relaunch plan that Giochi Preziosi said that it aims to provide by the end of March as the company has attracted the interest of white knights. Giochi Preziosi also hired Coldwell Banker Commercial Italy (CBC Italy) for the disposal of real estate assets. Sources said to BeBeez that troubled EMS Group, a packaging company of Xenon Private Equity, attracted a 9.5 – 12.5 million euros (8 million in cash) bid for part of its assets from XEM ahead of a closer receivership agreement with its creditors (see here a previous post by BeBeez). E2Pack may pay a further 3 million for other assets of EMS if its reaches a definitive agreement with the creditors.
