Watermans welcomes Kirsty Millar

Glasgow-based estate agency and law firm Watermans has appointed Kirsty Millar as property sales manager.
Millar joins the team at Watermans following over a decade with Corum Property, where she held several roles, including branch manager and sales negotiator.
Millar will now oversee Waterman’ property marketing and sales strategies.
She said: “I’m feeling positive about this role. It’s a great opportunity to lead the team, streamline processes and drive the estate agency division forward. I can already see the huge potential in the team, and I’m looking forward to supporting everyone so we can deliver the best results for our clients.”
She added: “For clients, I bring a calm, customer-focused approach, and an ability to make people feel supported throughout what can be a stressful process. My values align with those of Watermans; I am highly responsive and clear in my communication, so clients always know where they stand, which is central to Watermans commitment to providing straightforward legal and property advice.
“Overall, I bring a mix of client empathy, strong communication, and teamwork that will support both great customer outcomes and a successful, high-performing branch.”
“I’m excited to enter 2026 with a bang. We’ve got big goals, new strategies and a passionate team ready to make the year exceptional for our clients and our business.”
Scott Whyte, MD at Watermans, commented: “Kirsty’s appointment as property sales manager marks a significant step forward for the estate agency division at Watermans, and comes at the perfect time as we look forward to the
next chapter.
“Not only does Kirsty bring a wealth of top-level experience in the estate agency market but also the drive, focus and ability to take our estate agency to the next level.”
Whyte added: “Our progress in growing our brand across both the legal and estate agency sectors has come from a combination of providing great service and bold investment in our marketing strategy over recent years. However, we are never content to rest on our laurels. It is early days in her tenure here, but I’ve already seen what Kirsty and her team can bring to add further value and that cutting-edge to our clients.
Placefirst CEO becomes executive chair of the firm

Placefirst has appointed David Mawson as executive chair as part of his planned transition toward retirement. Mawson has led the build-to-rent and single-family housing developer-operator as CEO for the past six years.
Placefirst, which is part owned by Matter Real Estate, says it is on track to deliver and operate 10,000 homes through a mix of direct development, joint ventures and forward-funded projects.
Day-to-day operations will be led by chief investment officer Anna Hwang and chief financial officer Lukman Sabir while a new CEO is recruited.
Hwang and Sabir issued a joint statement: “David has been instrumental in Placefirst’s strategic growth and success. We’re delighted he will continue to guide the business as Executive Chair and look forward to announcing his successor in due course. On behalf of everyone at Placefirst, we’d like to extend our sincere thanks to David for his strong leadership and invaluable contribution to the strategic growth of the company over the past six years.”
Mawson added: “After nearly six years of continued growth, I am now stepping into a new role as Executive Chair. Placefirst is in a strong position as one of the leading operators in the single-family BTR market, and I look forward to continuing to support the business as it progresses toward its target of 10,000 homes.
“While I will be stepping back from day-to-day leadership, I will remain closely involved in guiding the company through its next phase. I would like to thank Matter Real Estate for the opportunity to continue contributing to Placefirst’s growth, and to express my appreciation to the talented team at Placefirst, which I have been extremely fortunate to work with, and their continued commitment to the business’s ongoing success.”
