Savills appoints Jonathan Latham as head of Cardiff office

Jonathan Latham

Savills has announced the appointment of director Jonathan Latham as head of its Cardiff office, effective 1st January 2026.

He succeeds Chris Potts, who established the Savills Cardiff office in 2007 and will continue to lead the company’s sports and major leisure service line.

Jonathan joined Savills in 2018 and currently leads the property management team in Cardiff. He has worked across commercial, residential, and rural sectors.

Latham commented: “We have an incredibly talented team and a strong foundation, but there’s still so much growth ahead of us. I’m excited to build on our success and continue shaping the future of the business, working closely across all divisions to deliver exceptional results for our clients.”

Chris Potts said: “It’s been a privilege to lead the Cardiff office and see the progress we’ve made over 18 years. My full focus is now on delivery of major sports stadia across the UK and working with colleagues in the USA, Australia and the Middle East supporting major events. Jonathan will now take the lead in driving the growth of the office, establishing new service lines and strengthening the market-leading teams we already have.”

Richard Rees, MD at Savills UK, added: “I’d like to acknowledge Chris’s outstanding leadership in building our Cardiff office into the leading property services firm in South Wales. I’m excited to see Jonathan take on this role – his collaborative approach and cross-divisional expertise will be central to the continued success and expansion of our Cardiff office.”

Association for Rental Living announce new Chairs for North West Hub

Chloe Sachikonye

The Association for Rental Living (ARL), the membership body for institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors, has announced new leadership for its North West Steering Group.

Chloe Sachikonye, senior account executive at Yardi, will serve as the new chair of the North West Hub. Bex Hetherington, head of operations at Native Communities, will serve as vice chair.

The appointments follow the previous leadership of Dougie Orton-Wade as chair and Peter Grimshaw as vice chair. Both will remain involved with the Hub.

Supporting Sachikonye will be Bex Hetherington, head of operations at Native Communities, who takes on the role of vice chair. She will work collaboratively with fellow industry leaders to deliver best practice in all areas of residential management and operations.

The new leadership takes up their roles after the North West Hub held a seminar and social event earlier this week focusing on Greater Manchester’s development plans and the rollout of the Manchester Good Landlord Charter.

Brendan Geraghty, CEO, the Association for Rental Living, commented: “We are extremely grateful to both Dougie and Peter for their leadership of the North West Hub since its formation. The Hub was created as part of the Association’s regionally responsive growth, with its work delivering an important voice for the rental living sector in the North West.

“As the Hub enters its next chapter, we are delighted to welcome Chloe and Bex to lead its ongoing work, promoting collaboration and addressing the unique challenges and opportunities facing the sector in the region.”

Sachikonye said: “The North West is one of the most dynamic regions in the living sector, and I’m delighted to take on the role of Chair, working alongside our committee and wider community to encourage collaboration, share knowledge, and drive meaningful conversations across rental living.”

Former Homes England chief exec Nick Walkley proposed for major new role
Nick Walkley

At its meeting on 30 January, the Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority (CWCA) Shadow Board will be asked to approve in principle the appointment of former Homes England chief executive Nick Walkley as its interim chief executive, ahead of formal approval by the Combined Authority following its establishment in March 2026.

The CWCA will manage a multimillion-pound budget, including a £650 million mayoral investment fund over the next 30 years.

Nick Walkley previously served as Chief Executive of Homes England from 2017 to 2021, where he oversaw the agency’s housing and development portfolio, including affordable homes, new towns, brownfield schemes, SME support, and infrastructure funding. Prior to that, he was chiefexecutive of Haringey Council and Barnet Council in London. His most recent role was principal and UK president at global real estate advisory firm Avison Young.

He will take up the position in early March.
